3rd annual Spectrum meet in Irvine is back
Sunday, January 31st at noon is this year's date for the large GM meet-up at the Irvine Spectrum in OC (where the 5 & 405 Fwys meet). If I can get my car out of the shop (again), I'm down. 3rd gen turnout was ok last year but we need more representation. It's being held at the Target parking lot (south lot of the Spectrum).

I don't believe it matters if your car isn't car show worthy, most like myself will probably will always have a work in progress its never ending. I'm sure everyone has had their car in primer at one point or another, i think cars are a reflection of an individual sometimes good sometimes bad. My car currently sits torn apart and every day is see it it still looks great to me and i can't wait to drive it again but it also reflects my lack of dedication and effort to fix it and the longer it sits dissasembled the more i hate myself for it lol, i say bring your car out if its drivable and show it off most people will apreciate the time and effort spent working on the car, i've seen some crazy mods done on the boards for little to no money that just take time and effort that at times overshadow high dollar pieces.(reminder i must clean and polish my tail lights)

Re: 3rd annual Spectrum meet in Irvine is back
If i can get the car all cleaned up i wouldnt mind showing it.
I gotta atleast finish spraying some of the primer so i dont have crappy looking faded paint on it... Wierd, the hood, pass fender, and pass. door all have nice paint on them but the rest of the car was trashed from the sun.. Leads me to believe someone crashed it early in life and the paint they used was that much better than factory stuff..
I'm finishing up the rear end swap tonight(hopefully) and i should have the new bumper all bolted up as well.. maybe ill get to drive it to work tomorrow!

I think I'll fix the fog lights, swap the grey for black interior, and touch up a few spots. And maybe, just maybe I'll swap the LS1 brakes in. I have everything I need except time.

Ill be going... thats my multi color white iroc in the above pics last year. This year its all one color, still spray can. This isn't a show btw so don't worry about the condition of your car. Last year they were trying to outnumber the euro guys.

Re: 3rd annual Spectrum meet in Irvine is back
So it doesn't matter how you car looks. I am thinking of going in fact it is my first time going to an event like this so I am not sure how things work.
On my camaro, I am missing the rest of the lower ground effect (still in process) but everything else look okay.
Could someone let me know what is require to go and if I could take my car at the state it is in. The reason I ask is because all the car in the picture look like if they came out off the factory.
I would appriciate it
Thanks

Humm sounds tempting I'll see if I could free up some time or do not make any plans to see if i could make it. If i decide to go I'll try to gather up the Gold Coast F Body crew and drive out there.
By any chance do you have an exact address?
Thanks. Tony.

Literally where the 405 and the 5 meet. If you need an address for a GPS or Mapquest, it is:
115 Fortune Dr., Irvine, CA 92618
Once you get there, drive to the far back of the property to where the two freeways meet.

I'm going. Driving all the way out from the 29 Palms area.
You need to go to more Cali Generalz meets! Unless you just joined that is... I don't see your car that often!

As for me I am having everyone that is going with me meet up at my place and then head out to the meeting in irvine.
My friend wants to get there kinda early so we can all park next to each others car that way he knows where he left his car at. Lol
In fact it is my first time going so I really not sure how things work when you get there

As you exit the 405 south at Alton turn left and follow the road that parallels the fwy to the end. They park under the flyover.

I’m all for rolling in deep with 3rd Gen representation. Lets get some feedback from some other people that are planning on going.
My buddy has a warehouse that we can assemble at off of Bake before we head over to the meet. Let me know if you guys are interested and I’ll give him a call and set it up.

What we can do is use my buddy’s warehouse as a final staging area for all of the groups that are planning on attending. Then we can descend on the spectrum in all of our third gen glory.
Who else is interested?

I am planning on having everyone meet at my place around 10am to 10:20. That way it gives us some time to check the car fluids and see if everything is working properly and wait for anyone that is coming late before we leave. Then we are heading over to pick up a friend of mine. If she is not going with us then we leave for the meeting. Don't worry if you are taking a bike we can keep up.
Here is my address
1520 Locust ave Long Beach, ca 90813
My camaro is parked in the front cover. You can't miss it is the only camaro next to a vw bug. I should be outside giving a wax to my camaro
