Re: sad ending

I don't see how anyone could call a car that looks to be in as good condition as that one a clunker. Every day I see cars on the road that obviously have been the victim of years of neglect, some of these cars I see over and over for years, smoking, parts falling off, probably unsafe to one degree or another...REAL clunkers. And then they scrap a car like that beautiful GTA. What are people thinking!?

Re: sad ending

people fall in to advertising thats why. why else would someone turn in what seems to be a good condition car for a newer one they'l have to makes payments for for the next 5-6 years. whats funny is that it seems the majority of people are turning in cars and walking out with cars that waste as much gas. i think the limit should have been set higher. They should have offered motorcycles, $3500-$4500 towards a new bike i would have been more inclined, besides a bike gets around the 45mpg range and is great transportation. But then again theres no profit to be made on a 10k bike

Re: sad ending

I had a customer that spent $2000 on a 96 Chev Caprice 5.7 so he could drive it into the car lot.
I tried to make him an offer on it but her was dead set on getting his $4500 so he could get a Toyota Corolla "S".

I thought that u had to have that car registered under your name for a year and current tags for it to qualify for the clunker program
