Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
OK, trying to figure out a count! We can't do more than 7, six is actually plenty. The cars will go on in the order that you signed up. Please check your timing and fuel pressure (spout connector disconnected to check timing) so we don't waste dyno time doing that. If you need help with that, let us know before the car is on the dyno, and someone will help you. You are welcome to come and watch/spy/learn, and trust me, you will learn.

Everyone is welcome to come and watch. Don did not sign on to test, I don't think his exhaust mods are ready yet, and this looks like a pretty full day already, so we'll definately be going again pretty soon.

Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
RESULTS!
OK, let me start with saying that my results were achieved with an HSR intake. MY HSR will soon be equipped with a fully functional EGR system. 'Nuff said.
With some part throttle tuning by Kevin91Z, the base-line run was 382 rwhp / 346rwtq. (I thought we were looking at the wrong runfile...) Kevin added some fuel up top and the second pull was 385rwhp / 37xrwtq, 30 ft. / lb. gain.
Added some fuel up top, took some away down low. 387rwhp / 376rwtq.
It was still a tad lean up top, but Kevin discovered the injectors were maxed-out @ 109% duty cycle. It still had a little more power, if it had more fuel.
These pulls were made on the same dyno that indicated 321rwhp / 377rwtq with an Edelbrock base & modded SLP runners. No changes, other than the intake, were made. Oh, except a little work to open up the airlid outlet, and switching from a Flowmaster muffler to a Magnaflow muffler.
I was blown away.
Thanks to all present (Don, Kevin, Julie, Lon, Troy, Mike, Mikey, Vincent, Allen, Luis, Mark) for the help during the session. Everyone contributed, it was way cool.
Bill
P.S.: Do I have a hangover? Nope, but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
Congratulations Bill to a well built motor. Bill's car has a 700R4 tranny. By the way another example of Dyno Don short tubes headers making good power.
As a side note our Third Gens should make a real good showing at the LA Invitational next year. We should have quite a few low 12 second cars and most likely some in the 11's.

Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
I just had my car dynoed today. I got 181 hp and 190ft lbs. Now this is on a engine with 176,xxx miles edelbrock baseplate, SLP runners, magnaflow catback, k&n filters with gutted airbox, jegs stage 1 tune up kit, 24lb injectors, with a tune done by my neighbor. My car kept on kicking down to second gear though during the session. Do these numbers sound about right or do you guys think it sould of been better or worse?

Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
Dyno Don, could you post the graph from my dyno run...having trouble opening those files. What was the barometric pressure?
Oh, nevermind...I just noticed you posted it, along with a comparison to your graph, over in the "TPI" forum.
Bill

Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
Trusted sources have discovered that the dyno's barometric pressure reference was indeed incorrect on 9/12/09...looks like my rwhp was ~363*. I still like it, love the powerband.

Re: Dyno Day 2 (The Sequel)
Now correct that to what it really was, 30.2 and you do indeed have 380+
Remember, 28.6 is like 2000 ft. we were at sea level (30.2)
The machine was reading 363 uncorrected for that error in baro press.

I will post a full write-up; may be close to year-end before I have the time for the project.
