I just got pulled over last night for loud exhaust. The police officer asked me if I have modified the exhaust, I replied "Not really, I put on mufflers that actually make it quieter". What I failed to mention was quieter compared to open headers. Im running a crate 350 from ATK with hooker headers to a true dual 3 inch exhaust, mind you its through two real cats and two moroso spiral flow mufflers and two silencers, but yet it still "shook" his car driving by at 40 mph 1k rpm. I honestly dont know what else I can do, I dont want to be a cop magnet thats for sure.

What really upsets me about this whole thing though, while the officer was walking around the driver side to question me about my fire extinguisher two very loud imports with fart can mufflers drove by which shook MY car, along with 4 harleys with loud exhaust also. Sucks driving behind your buddy in a 4th gen ls1, next time Im gona be in front lol

I used to worry about the neighbors with my car but a few years ago some of the local yuppies bought harleys and they are at least 2x as loud as me. So I dont care any more.

Yep, my camaro is a huge cop magnet here in LA, but my 88 Monte Carlo SS is a MUCH BIGGER magnet. Probably becuase mostly gang members mainly drive cars like that. lol. Doesnt help not being white either. lol

I bet if I tinted my windows, I'm sure I'd get pulled over more than just followed.

And once they pull you over, they are more inclined to give you ANY ticket.

prior to my f-bod i drove a bone stock '97 corrola (w/out tint); constantly got pulled over for no apparent reason....
the last time i had a run-in; got pulled over once and it was jst to f w/me, then two blocks away a undercover tails me, pulls me over and thought my a*s was going to get kicked but thankfully a lady walks out and of course their attitude changed; no ticket and my a*s was not kicked by the sheriffs; a good in the in the Inland Empire

Surprisingly not! My car is loud, has a cowl hood, etc. They check me out quite often, but seem to leave me alone. I try not to bring attention to myself if you know what I mean, guess I'm just lucky or something???

I never got pulled over in my Camaro. My truck I used toi quite often before I repainted it and rebuilt it. Funny thing now is it has a NASCAR Dr Gas boomtube muffler that is deep and loud- never been pulled over in the 2 years now since I rebuilt it.

However, I have a new used 85 Cadillac ElDorado in mint condition with only 50K original miles on it and I have been pulled over in that thing at night 4 times now in 5 months- but never a ticket. I guess I look like a homie in a caddy. I bought this car for a backup daily driver and so I do not have to worry about where I park my truck sometimes. but turns out I have to worry more about the Caddy than the truck- can't park it safely overnight in the "neighborhood".

I was traveling route 1 south in I think either Newburyport or Salisbury, it was by where the train station is in Newburyport over the bridge, just a bit after that he got me. lol

I don't really get pulled over, there have been time when I should have been pulled over for one thing and another but following YES.
One night I was with a couple of friends at IHOP and there were closing so we got up paid and when out to our cars. Two cops came out with us that had been eating and sat in their cars talking, two of my friends didn't want to leave till the cops got out of there. I told my friends that I bet the cops would follow me out if I left, so i said i'd leave first and sure enough I got in my car and they followed.
Sometimes I miss the days when my paintjob sucked and I had the stock hood, cops seemed to ignored me. o well guess it comes with having a nice car.

hahaha i have you all beat i have a 91 camaro 350 z28 with a 6'' cowl hood and i got pulled over in covina for my LICENSE BULB BEING TOO DIM!!!!!
lol i was like officer its stock how bright is it suppose to be and how can you measure he didnt like that to much

I rarely got pulled over in my Z28, and even then it was because of the open cutout, I got pulled over many times in my Mitsu GSX, now I drive a Grocery Getter Nissan and am ignored. I agree with the comment that imports pull the attention (Garretts didnt help either)

I don't get pulled over any more but when I was 18 I did all the time. Cops just love young kids with "fast cars" specially when they were having fun aka being stupid lol actually the funniest thing was I hit 110 didn't get pulled over(love back roads) then on the way home I get pulled over for doing 60 in a 45.
