Drag Racing on Thursday nights at Irwindale
Anyone else go to the drag races on Thursdays at Irwindale Speedway? This past Thursday I saw 2 third gens, both were Camaro's. One was a flat black with no hood and I forget the other one.
Just curious as I might be taking my car down there on Thursday so I get a baseline reading on what my car can do, so I have something to compare any mods I do to it.
And if anyone went this past Thursday, did you guys see the old Toyota wagon pop it's passenger side tire in the burn out contest?

( It's a 1/8 mile track, so maybe 10's? )
It's a lot more fun than Fontana. If you get there early, you can do several runs in the first hour!

Ya, it's only a 1/8 mile track. That's what I expect, like a 10.4.
Whenever someone in my club has gone we always get there when it opens so we usually get quite a few runs in.

I should be there Thursday night inside the oval doing testing on our Supertruck #18 for the races this weekend. Tom Cunningham of Cunningham Connecting Rods is the owner of the truck and I am helping tuning the suspension and making sure the car is shaken down and ready for the 17yr old kid that brought a prety big sponsor package down from up north for the ride this year.I missed last weekend due to the fatal accident I was involved in with my private vehicle on Ortega Hwy. Oh Headaches- I was 0% at fault.
No worries , I am not a celebrity nor am I a comedian- and I can't sing for sh*t either.

I can assure you that was real, not a Hoax. That is Big John in the jellow fire jacket and his other safety crew personel in the blue shirts up at Irwindale and they are yelling at the press to get back behind the safety barriers.. It was not a setup move stunt.

Re: Drag Racing on Thursday nights at Irwindale
I'll use this as a perfect example to say why my Camaro out handles such a car street tire vs street tire. Its not about what you have, its all about how it's setup. Even this $1,000,000+ exotic pushed like a pig into that corner instead of rotating because the suspension is adjusted for people that do not know how to drive- its why I fear NOT messing with anything like this around freeway transistions and such- they can not brake and turnin like I can- I have pulled 1.07g's on a skid pad on street tires in my little V6 Camaro and a 102ft 60-0- but yes, I do 0-60 in 6 minutes. People always cower when they see a Ferrari, porcshe, Vette, etc and think no way a common car could have a chance against one- not true if you know how to build and set things. I guarantee my little V6 would give that Enso a run for its money on that little road course they set up at Irwindale that day- Long straights though? NOPE.

Another reason why actors shouldn't be in high performance cars.

When I saw it on the news the other night, the actor said he ran over a cone and it got stuck in the wheel.
