i got the bolts in the front mounted and everything is aligned but it seems like the 2 tabs in the back just dont want to go into there "pocket". i had to bend back some metal for them to align but now it wont go in. Is there a trick to this?? btw engine is still in car being supported by the jack. i was thinking should i lower the motor a bit, bolt the k member to it via the motor mounts, then jack the engine back up or.... just jack the k member up forcing it into its "pockets" I think the subframe may have closed up not allowing the rear tabs to seat against the car properly... any ideas or help??? anyone want to check it out and lend a hand ill be working on it tomorrow early morning to about 12:30

I suspect that when you bent the original k member, you probably also may have bent the firewall. You might want to check with a body shop to see what they would charge to put the car on a frame jig and straighten it out. There may be a way to do it in your garage, but I don't know enough about body work to give you any advice.

i think ur right... i finally got it in and the right rear bolt wont line up its just about a finger tip off. I got everything bolted in and i plan on taking it to a frame shop so they can line it up. They quoted me 150 just to hook it up and 55 an hour for labor.. sound fair??

I don't know what is involved in hooking it up, but the typical labor rate for dealer mechanics is $90.00-$120.00 per hour, independents charge less. $55.00 per hour sounds reasonable. Did they give you an idea how long it would take to pull it straight?

Better get a firm price up front on this. Most shops charge 150 hook up fee with a 4 to 8hr minumum. If you need a good body shop I would recommend Brea Auto Body in Brea. They are the ones who did my Iroc. The # is (714)990-1500 ask for Jimmy or Dave And tell them Paul sent you.
