Best place to get (Spicer) U-joints???
I'd like to replace the original U-joints while I have the driveshaft off on my GTA. I'm not sure if the GTA models came with upgraded U-joints or not. Mine say Spicer on them and they are the originals.
The local Chevy dealer wants $80+ for each U-joint and that's at "trade" prices. Not sure if those would be Spicer or just regular Delco ones. Anyone here know?
Also, is it possible to get GM U-joints cheaper than that? Or, is that the price they usually run? $80 for one U-joint (need two) sounds a little high to me.

Where are you located aprox- Orange County?
There's a driveline shop across from Home Depot in Fullerton that stocks Spicer u-joints.
$80 each is rediculous but also not surprizing for a dealership.
Sorry, I don't remember the name of the shop but it is on S. Placentia Ave in Placentia and the cross street is Industrial way. Placentia Ave. is a border street of Fullerton and Placentia hence why Fullerton HD is accross the street.
The shop is called something like "The Driveline"
I would guess the joints to be about $25-30 each max. Cheap ones go for about $15-20.

Precision sells a line of heavy duty u-joints, those are pretty good and will be good enough for your thirdgen. I sold those to many a 4-wheeler and they were always happy with them.
You will need to call around and see who carries them, pretty sure the box stores dont, you'd need to find a mom+pop style parts store.

Thanks for the replies! I'd like to try to get the Spicer brand U-joints if possible.
Dean, I'm near Riverside. Sort of on the border between Riverside and Moreno Valley. I don't mind taking a ride down there to get the U-joints. $25-$30 sounds alot better than $80.
