Auto Maniac on History Channel — 3rg gen content...
Anyone catch last night's episode?
It focused on "Cool cars of celebrities". Mainly, celebrities' cars that involved someone's death. They of course covered James Dean's Porsche Spyder, Jane Mansfield's car ...etc.
They finished by discussing Sam Kinison and his '89 Trans Am. Unfortunately, they boggled some of the stats on the third gen Trans Am AND even worse, totally missed the fact that Sam owned a 20th Anniversary Turbo TA.
They used some base model TA to represent Sam's car and made NO mention of the turbo edition.
In spite of the blatant errors, it was still cool to some 3rd gen. coverage on the tube.

I was over at a racing buddy's place ... checking out his just purchased mint 1981 Camaro ... and I was listening to the show while we discussed his future decision regarding his engine and setup. Not to bad, I always like the history channel's programming.

Didn't you ever hear about this? Back in 1992 Sam Kinison was driving to Laughlin, NV in his TTA to do a show.
A drunk driver from the opposite direction crashed into Sam's car. What's really tragic is that Sam saw the the oncoming truck weaving on the highway. He slowed down to 15 mph, but due to a guard rail could not get completely of the road.
The drunk driver slammed into him.

Brett, Sorry to say I do know all about it. I was just quoting the late great Sam Kinison with that line above.

When someone mentions Sam Kinison, I usually think of the scene from "Back to School" with Rodney Dangerfield — "C-mon say it! SAAAAAAY IIIIIT!"
