Check out the Murkenthaler link on the pizza site. I cruised our Vette in this a few years back- what fun- a 962 Le Mans style Porsche lead the parade laps on Harbor Blvd making a big loop around- we did several laps with a few police "escorts" joining in. We were not suppose to breach 35mph but things got out of hand fast and we were all doing about 80+ in small jonts- even the cop cars- Not everyday you see a 962 going up Harbor Blvd!
This is a neat event- lots of vintage cars including original sprintcars dating back to the 40's and 50's- all driving the parade course through public streets.
EDIT: I checked the site and it doesn't appear that they do the race car cruise anymore leading up to the start of the car show-doesn't suprize me though, like I said things got out of hand and they probably cancelled that part of it the following year- I have it all on video though
