Opinions on Maremont/Arvin Catalytic Converters

Hey guys, I picked up a Maremont/Arvin converter from Autozone today, but the guy I was recommended by said that it would clog in a few months. Now I don't believe it because he wanted 2 sell me a high-flow cat from him installed for a lot more. Do you guys have any opinions on these cats? Any experiences??

Cheaply designed case, poor welding they tend to fall apart quick.

So back to Autozone it goes... Any suggestions on a good cat that i can pick up for less than $100? How hard is it to pull it off, because I can get an assortment of tools, but I don't know which ones we'd need. Thanks

Would I need a 2 1/4" in and 2 1/2" out, or could I use a 2 1/4" both sides, universal Carsound Cat (23015)?

If you are going to install it yourself, you need to measure the inlet and outlet pipes on your existing cat, and buy accordingly.
