C3 Forum quote (Ricers vs. Racers)

Most of them apply directly to me (and some of you as well), even the tearing apart of a 4 cylinder. ****, I recall modding one of my father's lawn mowers. :sillylol: Funny, after reading this post, I looked at my finger nails (mind you, I take a shower in the morning) ... Grease under my finger nails? :sillylol:

-----------------------------
r!cer: you add a wing because you saw it on special in the 'pep boys' flyer.
racer: you added a wing because you get light on the straightaway at VIR or buttonwillow.
r!cer: you put a turbo or 'type-r' sticker on your civic/focus/cavaliar anywhere and admire your handywork knowing it will earn you much respect and those most sought after 'looks' from the corvette/mustang/trans-am owners
racer: you actually put a turbo or type-r engine in your car.

r!cer: you cut your springs to give your prelude that 'in the weeds' look and never thought about the radical camber change that gave you -3* camber and wear your tires out in about a week and a half.
racer: you cut your springs with precision to lower the car and the center of gravity and then actually get the car aligned for optimum turn-in and lateral stability.

r!cer: you own a civic and know all the part numbers for carbon fiber gauge inserts and clear tail lights
racer: you own a civic and know all the part numbers and specs for the valves, pistons, camshaft, etc.

r!cer: you've opened up the hood.
racer: you've opened up the engine.

r!cer: the first thing you do is put on a 'cat-back' system.
racer: the first thing you do is punch out the cats.

r!cer: you pay for stickers.
racer: you pay for parts, the stickers just come with them.

r!cer: your roll cage is chrome plated.
racer: your roll cage has a tech sticker on it.

r!cer: you talk smack.
racer: you own a helmet.

r!cer: you wash your car to show off the paint job that cost you more than the car.
racer: you wash your car to get rid of all the greasy fingerprints---sometimes.

r!cer: you know what 'altezza' means
racer: you have no clue what 'altezza' means

r!cer: you look for water puddles to do street burn outs.
racer: you don't drive through puddles because you lose control in first and have to start in second.

r!cer: your stereo consist of punch, rockford-fosgate and JBL.
racer: your stereo consist of hedman, borla and flowmaster.

r!cer: in school, you didn't take shop because it was too dirty.
racer: in school, you didn't take home ec because it was too dirty.

last and certainly MOST IMPORTANT:
r!cer: you 'race' on the street because your an irrisponsible, knuckle-scraping punk and have no respect for your safety or those sharing public thouroughfairs, and besides, you don't even know where the track is.
racer: you always race on the track because your actually going fast enough that you could really get hurt. you also know you can't control all circumstances and you want a safety crew standing by to pull your broken butt out if you crash and burn.

these are just a few i thought of. notice there was no differentiating between import and domestic. i auto-x alot so i don't disrespect cars with names like CRX, WRX or NSX. you can get your butt handed to you real easy that way. just depends on the driver and the track. there have been days when i've beaten a c-5 and been beaten by a CRX at the same event.

feel free to add to the list but keep in mind people with greasy fingernails are gearheads whether they work on a civic or a corvette.
Hmm, can't write r!cer?

How true that is. Just because they sell it at Pep Boys doesn't mean you have to buy it

LMAO It's their own fault, it shouldn't be so difficult to gain their trust
