Window tint
Does $100 sound about right to get the rear window/hatch tinted? Can anyone recommend a good tint shop? I used to park in a garage at home and work, now I'm outside all the time and need to cut the heat. I may try doing the sides myself after the back is done.

I paid $140 for mine (sides and back) by a guy we know, who picked up my car and left his van overnight so I didnt have to drive to Van Nuys (I think thats where it is)...He does great work, he did and still may do the tinting for car commercals where you cant see the driver, thats how my dad met him and hes done all our cars with no mistakes or fading...even suggested that bronze tint would look good on my dads champane colored Bonneville, which we were secptical(sp?) about, but it looks great-would of looked funny with black tint on a champane car!
If your interested I could get the info out of my car...

Seems to high to me, I got mine done at black diamond window tinting, they really liked my car so they took off the factory tint on the back window put new tint on and did the sides for free, for $120 - took them 6 hours because the tint on the back was stuck on so good (I just had the car painted and it was baked, they even commented about it.) Only thing I didn't like was they put a little diamond sticker on my bumber that I found later that night thankfully. They know what they are doing and they do houses for pretty cheap too.

Thanks all. After a while the light bulb turned on and said 'check the yellow pages'. I called around and got info and estimates from $65-$125. They all sound the same: LT Warr, metalized film, 1 pc, scratch res, takes about an hour. I think I'll go with one of the guys that was about $85. Either 'A tint of class' or 'Bill Dunn 1stop shop'.
