I may start parting mine out.

The more I look at it and the more I think about it, the more I wonder if it's worth it...It's a restore salvage title. It's got so many things it needs, and I'm not sure it'll be worth the investment. Does anyone need anything?

I'll take pictures of it this weekend and see if there's any interest out here.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

Well, the title is not really a problem. (You can have the DMV run a diagnostic to restore the title) birdtojag is looking for a body, though.....

Re: I may start parting mine out.

If the quarters, rockers and frame are straight, I wouldn't mind taking a look at it. Was it ever hit? That's where my main concern is. If it was hit at any point where it did severe damage, I may have to pass. If the doors are dented or dinged, it's not that big of a deal. I'm just looking for something that would have straight quarters, frame, rockers and such to rebuild my car to something worth painting and having. Show me pics of everything and I will see if it would be worth it for me.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

The rear quarters and frame are straight. What exactly are the rocker panels?

Here's what I know: The car has a "restore salvage" title. I have no idea what from, and neither did the PO.

Everything seemed to line up pretty well. What I do know is that it looks like someone ran up on a curb. They took a chunk out of one of the wheels (I have a replacement and the one with the chunk missing still holds air) AND they pretty much flattened that pinch weld seem that is under the car on that side all the way to about the end of the door.

The car drove straight after I aligned it.

Other than that, the only other thing you may not like is that the PO painted it in roll on truck bed liner...

I will get better pics this weekend (possibly tomorrow) of everything. Until then, you can look at my photobucket. The car is in pieces right now and no longer has a motor.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

From the pictures, the car looks pretty good. The only set back I can see is the battery tray is rotted out. Is that the only place it has rust and has been eaten away? If so, I might be interested in it. How much are you selling for? The pinch welds can be straightened and the wheels I'm not even worried about. I have other wheels I can use instead. I do want to keep looking because I would prefer a T-top car shell (firebird). Let me keep looking around and I will keep you in mind. Let me know the price though.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

Seriously, make me an offer, any offer. I kinda just want this stuff out of my garage.

The battery tray is the only rust I've seen.

soocrispy is in need of a torque converter if youre willin to let it go for a good price, hes kinda short on cash but thats his next step because when we dropped his in one of the bolts cross threaded and now it keeps locking up on him in 3rd

just let me know thanks

Re: I may start parting mine out.

The rear that's on it is a peg leg. I happen to have a 4th Gen T/A 10 Bolt w/ discs that's a posi in the garage.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

ahhhh how much you lookin to get for it? i mainly need the carrier but if i could hook my new PBR calipers up to the brackets on those and swap it over to my axle id be willing to take the whole thing, ive been looking for a set of disc brackets too oddly enough, autozone screwed up and i ended up getting a brand new set of PBR calipers at no cost to me lol

i know i could just put the whole axle up but i dont like the width of 4th gen axle, call a price and hopefully i can scrape the $ to make it without breakin the bank with rent lol

Re: I may start parting mine out.

Well I'm definately parting it out. Hood is gone. What does anyone need and I'll post pics. The rolling chassis may or may not be spoken for (body is straight). Torque converter is gone. I still have a 700R4 with 30K on it. The interior is almost complete.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

I'm going to forgo the chassis for now. I have limited cash for what I want to do and as of now, I need some other parts. The body can wait a while (as there are many of them out there yet). So, chassis up for grabs.

Re: I may start parting mine out.

I'm headed to the valley tonight. If anyone wants anything, let me know. I'll throw it in the truck and swing by. I'm delivering a front end from a 99 Z28, 2 fenders from the 88 bird, and the dashpad tonight.
