Phoenix cooling issues!
i know this should probably be in the cooling threads but its region specific. so my fan switch is bad. i am trying to figure out which combo of fan switch and thermostat temp would be best based on the weather here. i want my car to stay cool as possible in the summer and have the heat still work in the winter.(for those rare cold nights). i was thinking hypertech 4026 176 on 166 off fan switch and a 170* thermostat. will these achieve my needs? if not what should i use? thanks

I would use the 170* thermostat and a different fan switch that JET offers. It's a 200* on and 185* off and is better suited to that thermostat. I run this setup with a stock radiator and my temps sit about 190* in summer and the heater works fine in winter. With the Hypertech switch your fan will turn on before the thermostat even opens and cause it to run more than necessary.
The 195* to 200* operating range is only "optimum" from an emissions standpoint. These cars run better (performance wise) with the lower operating temp.
