Re: TGO Windshield banners

Ugh....Whats up with the crooked 'N' & funky angled legs on letters?

I like the old ones that I used to make for the site better.....

BTW...His "sponsor" charged you $20 for $3 worth of vinyl? So much for a "sponsor", huh?

Re: TGO Windshield banners

The windshield was the same, only larger.

That was the original font we chose on the TGO site.

Re: TGO Windshield banners

I could easily still make them, if I was in any way still part of TGO. They wouldn't like it if I did it now. I make all the ones for our local club.

ANY shop COULD for that price, if you have a friend at one. But since TGO is a business now to make $ for their pockets, not run by third gen enthusiasts who do it for FUN, the site owners would get upset over a domain name ownership, if they weren't getting their share of the $.

I have noticed this site has gone "Commercial". I was also wondering if they would get bent over it and scream: "Copyright infringment!!!" LOL.

Re: TGO Windshield banners

They've already had a beef with me over another issue.....I won.

Now.....
There is nothing saying you couldn't make ONE for yourself, or (I suppose) to GIVE away. But if you made 1 single cent & sold them.....That is 'Copyright Infringement'.

The problem with shipping vinyl, is making SURE they can't get folded & messed up in shipping. Yes, I wouldn't be responsible for bad shipping, but I never liked having a bad product of mine go out. Yeah.....I've been doing signs (vinyl, neon, channel letters.....whatever) for about 12 years now.

To make sure that doesn't happen, you end up spending $3 or $4 (at least) or more on shipping, basically doubling the cost. Grrrr.....

Re: TGO Windshield banners

well, i think id take the risk.. i thought it was more of a sticker than vinyl. but vinyl sounds better actually. any way i could get one from you though? maybe a padded envelope would work a little? shouldnt cost much to ship?

yeah well i never said "sponsors" come through all the time. some are good and some suck thats the nature of the beast

As far as the screwy lettering, the windex trick to center it got out of hand lol i ended up doing mine dry, turned out better IMO we can get them in various sizes from a small 1"X5" to a full windshield one just let us know, prices obviously change with size tho when we got ours they were rolled up nicely and shipped in a box so i was pretty happy

I dont know, but I would like them without the "Lines" cut through it, if possible.

Re: TGO Windshield banners

OK......

After talking to JT about it today, he said it would be fine if I made some.

Now...I no longer work at the sign shop I did before, but am still on very good terms with the owner & never have any problems getting vinyl made.

If anybody wants some, lemme know what size, color& font & I'll check into getting some made.

Obviously, if I get 10 (for example) made the same size/same color/same font...It would be easier & therefore cheaper. Versus having 10 made, in 10 different fonts, 10 different sizes & 10 different colors.

Its been real easy for our club ones, since 99% of them are the same size & color. About 6" tall by 10" wide.

Lemme know what everybody wants & I'll talk to him in a few days with the requests & such & find out for sure what the cost would be.

I gotta say: I like this size! Black would be a good color for me, but then again, I would be putting it against a yellow background. (My yellow IROC) I would also like one in light grey to go against the limo tint of my T/A's back window. Same sizes for both

Re: TGO Windshield banners

A long time ago I had a window banner on mine for my silly little car club way back in the day, got it made at Arizona Mills Mall at one of the carts in the center walkway, 3 different colors, went most of the distance accross the windshield, cost me like $10. I got to design it (fonts/colors/size) right there on the spot. Took like 10 minutes.
