New Topic: Freeze Plugs
New topic this time. Freeze Plugs: When you have to change them or even just one, do you pound them in and leave them or do you get them out before you install the new ones? Thoughts?
I would say to remove them and not restrict coolant flow through the block. Don't want to create hot spots and a cracked block to save 5 minutes.

i personally got in the habbit of pulling them out all the way for the same reason, plus theres that whole thing where you now have contaminants in your cooling system that could break down if theyre not brass.
Plus its not too much more work for peace of mind, besides its just a punch to the top to rotate it then grab it with some pliers

When I went to "Mechanics school" I was always told not to do that, as it could create "hot spots" in the block. Leaving one in the block is just lazy....
