I did the DIY led gauges in the tech forums and i have to say they turned out pretty well, i did blue and i really like them except now i have like 70 blue LEDS left over and i wanted to see if anyone was interested in the mod.

I did the blue to my 85 MPH cluster, but when i bought the 145 off of the red iroc sfeeny has, i got bored and soldered up those too, so now i have 11 extra ones if someone wants them, all you gotta do is pop out your cluster and swap these with the existing bulbs

Anyone?

 

All 11 of them work guys, i tested them with my phone battery and a couple wires. First person to respond can have them for FREE im sick so this is what ive been doing since i woke up at 6 lol Ive been trying to keep my hands busy and i already have 12 in my cluster so theyre just sitting here

 

I'll take them if they will work in a 91 rs' cluster. Gotta replace some of my lights anyway.

How well do they light up your cluster? Kinda curious... I'll take em if Doc_G dosent. Pic? LOL

 

they work pretty well at night, obviously at dusk itd be kinda so so because of the color diffusion when the orange sun is in your eyes, it only took like 2 hours of my time for everything, and one burn from the soldering iron but it happens lol. I think the effort to results ratio is pretty good personally but i was just happy to get rid of that nasty yellow light

yeah but im just waiting to blow the dust off it and get it back on the road again, apparently mvd suspended my license for 90 days....68 days ago lol so im just now getting the notice that says hey retard your license is suspended and so ive been driving my DD lancer everywhere because well...it doesnt stand out like our cars do ya know?

yeah i cant wait to get back in the camaro, its such a torture to come home everyday and see it sitting in the driveway lol and i hate it even more when i go out and start it up because i miss driving it, i miss actual torque and power

 

Yes, torque is good!!! I always try to have at least one of my thirdgens running.... LOL, my 85 T/A is undergoing a MAJOR reconstruction. (383, new paint, etc) My 90 rs is turning into a much more serious track car (427, gutted interior,12 point cage, more suspension upgrades, etc) but my 305 tpi 86 IROC is still running!! U gonna come see us out at the car show (91st and northern) one of these fridays? er, after your liscence is fixed, of course!!!

 

man i wish i could, unfortunately QT has me workin like a slave when im not at college so i work fridays, not gonna complain too much though because the checks are not bad by any means but it gets a little nerve racking at times. i do however have saturdays off so i will DEF. be at speedworld lol

i dunno he hasnt replied after i asked about his cluster im thinking of buying more of the bulb holders and just soldering a bunch up and selling them for like the cost of the parts because i mainly just start doin the leds when i get bored lol

 

I would take em off of you if you dont want em. I have a lot of bulb holders if you need em. Either way, let me know. LOL I'm hoping we can have a good turn-out at speedworld. I would hate to get there and heres 40 must#$@S and like, four F-bodies!!! LOL, embarassing!!!

 

lol sounds like a plan, sonner or later my friend is gonna let me look at hhis fiero to see if its the same setup, if its the same im gonna put in some UV ones to see how they look

 

UV? Huh? Your friend with the Fiero wouldnt have an extra GT wing would he? They look great on thirdgen T/A's....

 

yeah he wanted something original for the color and the car is yellow and black, but if you did a yellow led it would still give off that nasty color i wanted to get rid of in the first place, the UV's would tie into the black on it so were gonna go that route with it lol.

As far as the wing goes he deosnt have any parts for that thing, he just bought it because his 79 firebird keeps failing emissions and he needed something a bit more dependable, ill keep my eyes peeled for one though

 

Cool. I saw a Fiero GT wing on a trans-am the other day and it looked really good....
