He hit a truck that was stopped on the freeway. It was at night. He didn't even get a chance to hit the brakes. Hit the truck at about 80mph. The truck had been involved in another accident.

That was incredibly lucky!!! He should be as glad for walking out as he might be sad about the car!

Too true!
My seat belts dont work either. My seat also didn't work as well after my brother stretched and broke a weld. Replaced the seat but the car broke and never fixed the seat belt. Now just fixed the car and the seat belt is still broken.

Ok, so a few months ago he ended up rolling the 87 that he got after this one. Sorry, no pics yet. Didn't even get out of first gear, went sideways into a curb, and rolled the car over once back on to the wheels. Walked away from this one too. Now he just got a 89 RS.

How do you roll it in first gear? You have to be pulling some pretty epic speed to do that. I hit a curb going sideways at 45, and the car just hopped up on it. (Not a Camaro) Broke just about every suspension/drivetrain piece on the passenger side of the car, but didn't roll it.

No offense, but don't let him buy another camaro....he has bad luck with them....is he okay again?? hope so. sometime if you hit the curb just right, a car can easily roll over....

Aw, Man!! He has the worst luck! I think he needs to buy a volvo or a tank (In the interest of safety) Glad he's ok.

A tank. Thats kind of funny since he's a gunner on a tank in the army. It's too late. He already has another camaro. I just helped him swap out the motor in it yesterday. We'll see how long this one last.

Re: My friends 87 IROC, lucky to walk away from this one
Yes, the truck he hit was in the left lane. After he got out of the car another car hit his car. Thats how the right rear was damaged. I wish I had pictures of his car that he rolled. The drivers side is smashed down to about neck level if you were sitting in the car normally. I do have a pic of it before the crash. It's the red one.

Wow, that sucks, luckily he's ok! Maybe the motor will be a better fit the '89 RS. Must not have cared for the other 2 very much. At least the motor can live on!!!

He has had the same 350 in all three cars now. Like I said before I just helped him take it out of the red 87 and put it in the 89 rs. Motor started off as TPI, now it's carbed. Got me a free 700R4 trans out of it.

LOL, Hahahah!! The way I look at it, every one that gets wrecked makes mine more rare. Besides, Kudos to him for finding a car he likes and sticking with the body style no matter what happens!
I know what you mean by "Knowing somebody" LOL. I have had that same arrangement before!
