Making a Home Depot CAi!!!

So I got the 2 90* bends and I have about 3 feet of black ABS 3" piping that I will cut to the right size. But what KN filter should I get? I went over to Lopers on Country Club and all they had were 9" with 3" inlet, is that too much? Is there an exact part# I should order?

Also, what gains should I expect? I mean I read all the time of how restrictive these intakes are on stock cars and yet people say "don't expect anything". So what is the deal?

Thanks.

Okay I installed it and it looks....ok. I need to get a real KN filter in there. However, I have 3" black ABS pipe and it rests on top of that little-teeny-tiny resevoir return hose to the radiator? Will this cause an overheating problem? It's not totally kinked, but instead of straight to the rad. it bends below and up now.

Also, how can I get the filter into the fenderwell w/o all these crazy bends and such? I moved the charcoal canister and removed the metal pedestal it sat upon and put the hoses into the holes to go back down.

I want to dyno this thing before headers next month. I'm hoping for 10 more hp, because before on the dyno I was running 91 octane, but with 87 it feels much stronger. So with better gas and this intake, do you think 10 is realistic?

You know thats funny I also have a CAI I made from Home Depot...They work awesome. and because of the thickness of the ABS piping they don't heat up. Its pretty sweet I would love to see some pics of your setup I will post mine tomorrow
