one step closer to what......losing your torque power band?? I'm still very curious as to what cam/head setup you plan to run, and if you are trying to make stock TPI work with a 9inch converter.

Getting quite a big head there, how do you fit it in the helmet when you take your car down the track?

I think the fact that nobody in our group has ever even come close to beating me gives me the right to be a LITTLE bit confident.. There are PLENTY of cars in tucson that will smoke me, just not from our little group of gearheads.

EDIT: project-iroc...I'm still waiting to hear the motor details! I'm curious.

tpi setup is...edelbrock base, slp runners, siamesed plenum (all ported and gasket matched), 58mm tb, 25lb injectors, and a afpr.
seen here

heads are on the way, a used set of aluminum l98's (still have to have them worked), cam is comp cams 224 / 230, .502 / .510, don't member part number off hand, and the next buy will be a set of 1.6 rr. rear is 10 bolt posi, 3.73's....what else did you want to know?

Oh....you mean the time that Jonathan got all cocky with his 12.5 second timeslip and called me out to Old Vail Road to race...and I ended up handing him his *** by like 5-6 car lengths, and then Eric raced him and it was almost dead nuts, and then you raced Jonathan a few weeks later on your 125 shot and he puts you down.......oh yeah, THATs "pretty close"

Damn dude, your uber-lightened car, with huge intake, huge cam, 1000$+ heads, turbo 350, gears and slicks... beat:

a) A 3800 pound pickup truck with Edelbrock everything and slicks.

b) A stock longblock Iroc-Z that can only run a decent time on nitrous with street tires.

c) A molested RS on bald slicks trying to shove a huge cam down stock heads.

You're l33t... no doubt about that. How fast you go is directly related to how much money you put into your car. And some of us like to eat, pay rent, have other hobbies, or in Mike's case... get drunk and break yer hand so you can't work and make money to finish your motor.

This whole conversation is stupid to have, especially with Chris.

project-iroc: Unmodified, those heads are going to be too small. Traxxion ran the same cam on a miniram and needed 30 lb injectors and a lot more port size to feed it (his heads had 195cc ports, I think Al L98's are 165-175.) IMO, I'd dyno the motor before picking a convertor, but that's just me.

But it's your car, who cares what we think.

hey thanks for the advise. no, i'm not putting the cam in till i get the heads ported, or unless i can find a good set for cheap. i know the TC is a lil overkill right now, but all will come together in time.

edit: very nice iroc btw. 90 > *

You forget to mention slipping (or sometimes nonexistent) 3rd gear $50 junkyard transmission that wouldn't even hold a gear unless i put the B&M shift kit in it, a trunk full of slicks/rims/jack (remember, since all my friends are such ****ing a$$es they can't hold my street tires for me for a few minutes), and at the time it was not "uber-lightened", it still had the fat-*** rubber wing, all the wipers and ****, steel bumpers, full carpeting sound deadening, ect... In fact the only thing lighter on the car than everybody else's was the fiberglass hood and lack of centerconsole. Everybody else is running ac/heater delete so I don't wanna hear the bogus cop-out "but its a race car." I think its HALLARIOUS coming from you that my car is "high" dollar. My **** is LOW dollar. I have ALL my money in the damn heads, everything else is cheap. I'm running a piece of **** $100 solid cam (NOT roller), a stock rearend, a stock transmission, a STOCK short block with flat tops, and tons of budget deals and ebay steals to fuel the mix. I probably have 3/4 invested into my firebird than your iroc so I don't wanna hear that ****. I suppose a twin turbo rotary motor, a tube chassis, and whatever else you have brewing is NOT high dollar??
