Wanted to buy: Gas cylinders

Anyone around here got an argon, oxygen, or acetylene (or all three) cylinder they want to get rid of?

I'm going to turn my Iroc into a lobster.

The tube chassis for the VW comes completely welded for 2995$, or as a kit for around 1100$. If I buy the kit and a welder, it's still cheaper than having them do it, and I get to keep the welder.

Plus I might get bored and make some V8 turbo headers.

It's pretty hard to booger TIG since you add the metal to the pool. I'll do your set with some 6013 SMAW rod to get the proper boogerage.

I've actually taken a couple semesters of welding. I can't do MIG, and I'm sketchy on aluminum still (but I'm taking lessons now.)

When I say turbo header I mean take a real header, cut off the pipes 3 or so inches from where it bolts to the motor, and weld on a 3" pipe to the header piece, then an adaptor to bolt the turbo onto the 3" pipe, boom..Turbo header. No modifying need to be done to the drivers side header, just a run a pipe to connect it to the pass. turbo header for a single turbo app. or make 2 turbo headers for a twin setup.

I think if you where to actualy make a turbo kit that i would want to put on one of my cars, I would end up doing a hole buch of grunt work to one of your cars in exchange(fuel pump on fbody).

Edit: Nevermind I thought it was something else.

I'm talking about making a header from scratch so I can put the turbo in a place to keep all the belt driven items in their normal place.

Now that I have a welder, those are #2 on the list of stuff to make. After building a steel welding table. I'm going to make the lift bars out of chromoly this time. They'll be the pimp shizzle.

TIG has 4 consumables. Gas, welding rod, tungsten, and electricity. None of which are free.

You guys and your turbo/supercharger fantasies. Its like listening to little kids talk about getting Ferraries when they grow up.....nice thoughts, but just ain't never gonna happen . Now me on the other hand, I have a car I can actually supercharge for well under a grand........

*points to the twin turbo motor in the garage*

Making my own turbo headers only costs me a little bit in materials and a lot of time. After that you can get turbos off ebay for cheap. Then it's 500-600 throwing-rods-out-the-block horsepower. (Pssst, what do you think I have the spare 350 for?)

Getting the right mods done to it first. I don't want it to be like that mustang I raced in front of coach's in my firebird that had a stock 5.0 motor with a blower, and I was still beating him. I still need to put an intake manifold on, and get a 77mm MAF with matching 24 pound injectors, and a MSD BTM 6 boost ignition, then it should be ready for about 10-12 pounds of Vortec V-1 thirdgen smoking power

Ok, so I'll drive your firebird against your Mustang after you get all this done.

Make sure that any bottle you buy isn't too far out of certification. They might raise a little fuss when you go to have them filled if they are.

MIG welding is easy. A lot easier than TIG and only a little more complicated than stick.

Contract your gasses from a supplier and you'll get them cheaper.

and LMMFAO@Mike with the dust comment!!!!

I just don't like the wire feed. It's either too fast or too slow... you have to start the arc and get moving or else it goobers... TIG you can take your time, makes nice clean welds and stick is just cake.

I already got a price on the Argon bottle from Pima Welding Supply.. just wanted to see if someone has a bottle they didn't need anymore for cheap.

blah blah blah

your on that same bandwagon, every time i talk to you you are telling about some super turbo charger blower power you are going to put on your mustang some day when the rest of the world stops taking money out of you pocket.

The 5.0 wasn't a black LX Hatch was it? With plates that say 5.SLOW?

My buddy Cody has a supercharged 5.0 thats basically stock except for the blower...The cars now sitting my buddies backyard with the motor pulled.

Remind me again.....who pays your rent? Who makes/buys your dinner? ect..ect.. Rent is not the ONLY bill when you have a house, not an apartment, there is things like gas, water, electric, food, ect..

BTW, my sister is not just "paying my rent", I'm working for it. I babysit for her 3 days a week, and $500 a month is the same she paid her last babysitter. If you don't think taking care of two toddlers 3 days a week 12 hours a day is a job, then you need a head check.

My buddy Cody has a supercharged 5.0 thats basically stock except for the blower...The cars now sitting my buddies backyard with the motor pulled.
Yep, black LX hatch with red pin striping and a blower. I raced him a couple times late at night in front of Coachs and blew him away pretty bad, 5-6 car lengths with my firebird N/A. Hope he gets it running better, he's putting supercharged mustangs to shame. When I put my blower on my stang it better whoop up on my firebird motor versus blower.

BTW, my sister is not just "paying my rent", I'm working for it. I babysit for her 3 days a week, and $500 a month is the same she paid her last babysitter. If you don't think taking care of two toddlers 3 days a week 12 hours a day is a job, then you need a head check.
Especially her kids.

Since we're off topic anyway, my welder is sitting on the dock here at work. I'm going to go dry hump it now.

Haha, yea its nothing too special...Just a basically stock 5.0 with a blower and crappy street tires. If he got some sticky tires, that would help a ton.
