Wanted to buy: Gas cylinders
Anyone around here got an argon, oxygen, or acetylene (or all three) cylinder they want to get rid of?

I'm going to turn my Iroc into a lobster.
The tube chassis for the VW comes completely welded for 2995$, or as a kit for around 1100$. If I buy the kit and a welder, it's still cheaper than having them do it, and I get to keep the welder.
Plus I might get bored and make some V8 turbo headers.

I'm talking about making a header from scratch so I can put the turbo in a place to keep all the belt driven items in their normal place.

No modifying need to be done to the drivers side header, just a run a pipe to connect it to the pass. turbo header for a single turbo app. or make 2 turbo headers for a twin setup.

I'll make them for a small fee.
I'll tell you now, the chromoly tubing and heim joints that size aren't cheap.

Making my own turbo headers only costs me a little bit in materials and a lot of time. After that you can get turbos off ebay for cheap. Then it's 500-600 throwing-rods-out-the-block horsepower. (Pssst, what do you think I have the spare 350 for?)

Make sure that any bottle you buy isn't too far out of certification. They might raise a little fuss when you go to have them filled if they are.
MIG welding is easy. A lot easier than TIG and only a little more complicated than stick.
Contract your gasses from a supplier and you'll get them cheaper.
and LMMFAO@Mike with the dust comment!!!!

I just don't like the wire feed. It's either too fast or too slow... you have to start the arc and get moving or else it goobers... TIG you can take your time, makes nice clean welds and stick is just cake.
I already got a price on the Argon bottle from Pima Welding Supply.. just wanted to see if someone has a bottle they didn't need anymore for cheap.

BTW, my sister is not just "paying my rent", I'm working for it. I babysit for her 3 days a week, and $500 a month is the same she paid her last babysitter. If you don't think taking care of two toddlers 3 days a week 12 hours a day is a job, then you need a head check.

Since we're off topic anyway, my welder is sitting on the dock here at work. I'm going to go dry hump it now.
