That looks good.

I'm looking at a 68k mile MG GT in Colorado right now. Considering flying up and buying it and driving it back. But if I do it means Camaro get's back burnered for a little bit. We'll see.

Car is looking great with the C6 wheels. Do you have lowering springs or coilovers on your car?

I've got coilovers in the front, and I cut like 2 coils off of the rear.

she might not be pretty but she runs out. hacked out the rear bumpstops and been running 295s with plenty of clearance for wider meats. Name: 0131161716-00_zpsvkgolw61.jpg

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

hey man @redneckjoe im glad you didnt sell the car man i remember thinking how bad *** that car was when i met you. i gave up on the trans am project it was just to much money after a while. so Monday I'm going to be pulling the motor etc. off of it and part out the rest. i did wind up buying a 89 camaro though this one runs that the motor will be trans planted into in the coming weeks. which brings me to my next question anyone know where i can find a camaro hood cowl or otherwise. around here. The car has a 3' cowl on it now but the kid put to much pressure on it and cracked the crap out of it lol.

everyone else sorry i haven't been more active on here allot has changed in the past months i found another job and now im store manager for cricket. lol

but ya the car i bought is a 89 camaro tops 5speed. with a 350 swap

so I'm going to tear the 350 out and put my brand new built engine in it, swap the posi rear end in it out of my 87 gta. all the suspension components etc. then part the rest out. which i anyone knows anyone looking for a built 700r4 that has been completely rebuilt (paperwork and pictures to prove) it has a stage 2 rebuild from monster transmission a 2000 stall bm hole shot torque converter (brand new) aluminum corvette servo also brand new shift kit etc. and a bm mega shift i have all that for sale.

hey Edward, if you go on facebook theres a group called, "drag racing parts florida". theres a guy named Jared thats always selling thirdgen parts. i think he goes by the name Jay? been a while since ive hooked up with him. ive seen a few camaros hes been parting out lately and noticed some cowl hoods. IDK if theyre sold or not? but its a good bet he has one. sometimes he's on "tampa racing junk" too.

pulled my torque arm out today and started fabbing pieces to strengthen it. i'll get some pics tomorrow.

Anybody have a working stock Camaro radio for sale? I'm putting a new antenna in my car soon and will need a radio to go with it. Also, anybody know a place I can get my heater core repaired?

Not keeping your heater? Apparently Will got the last brass heater core from the AZ vendor, so I'll buy yours if you are selling. Mine leaks real bad.

so this one is for the t top guys. so I bought an 89 t top camaro about a week ago. anyway we went and tore the motor out of it to swap in the motor from the ta. anyway thats all almost done but i noticed on the passenger side door i can stick my finger through the door seal and the window. i thought the seal might have just been rotted out or something but upon fuehrer inspection the seal looks almost brand new. the seal on the driver side looks fine only the passenger side is messed up. i will attach photos for a frame of reference anyone know whats wrong

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Looks to me like the window needs adjusting. It appears too far from the body of the car(b-pillar). That is based on what I can make out on the pictures and what you are saying. I don't have a ttop car so I don't know how the weatherstripping is supposed to look like but it looks funny. It's not reversed is it? I have installed ttop WS before, just has been a while..

Also looks like it is painted white under the WS?? Does it have rust holes underneath?

I decided to go with a LT1 for my car. Cheapest way back into EFI and an easy 400HP with some work.

My 84 has the same gap between the weather stripping on that side. You need to re-align the glass if the door looks to be aligned correctly. Not that hard to do, iirc.

Nah, kid flaked on it. There's a couple on Craigslist I'm going to call about. Should be able to get one for $500. Also I sent you a text about that wideband.

Nice bike, I've been keeping my eye out for a 70's/80's Ducati cafe racer.

Either of you go hunting? I have property at river ranch and just started hunting. Don't ask me what kind of rifle I have, just got into guns as well.

I've never been hunting before. I just shoot targets.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I'm sorry to come into y'all's thread about something completely irrelevant but I'm new and don't know how to make threads or anything. alright so I got a 1984 Camaro z28 as payment for dropping a motor into a jeep. was shifting gears when my clutch randomly stopped working, looked down and saw that it was ziptied to the brake to make it come back up, I don't know how to make my clutch work again as I know little about manuals. if anyone has an idea lemme know or if anyone knows a site or a youtube vido. THANK YOU

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I don't know much about the manuals in these cars either but isn't there suppose to be a cylinder or something to make it come back up after depressing it?

Somebody here will know. Are you in the Tampa area?

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

bad master cylinder i would guess?
I'm still trying to figure out how that ziptie remedy would work. seems like it would break once you hit the clutch down.
also, if it had to be ziptied in place, then the clutch might not be fully engaging, which could wear out the clutch plate from constant slippage I would imagine.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

So, stupid little story.
I was coming home today in my work truck (2014 2.5l Frontier full of equipment and supplies) when some little high school kid thought he was the fastest thing EVER passing me with his non-turbo 2.0 genisys on a two lane road.
I SO wished at that moment that I was in my car.
Drop that sucker back into 3rd, pedal down, see ya, kid.
Anyway, stupid story over.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I posted this on FB today as well, if anyone is interested, PM me. Whoever gets here first gets it. I want this stuff outta my driveway.

So I have a rear hatch from an 86 and a trunklid from an 84 (i think its an 84). I have them because I wanted a glass with no external 3rd light. Honestly, they've been siting outside and need some TLC, but I just need to get rid of them. If you can pick em up, I'll let both go for 75$. I'm located in Lake County.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

So I thought I would bring this up here.
There is a group of old guys (60's-70's) that meet at my Mcdonalds every Saturday morning for breakfast. They all have nice vette's and one has a fancy looking mx-5 etc. I think it would be fun if we could get 4-5 of us to meet up there, park our ratty little thirdgens next to them, and hang out.
If you all are interested, it's the mcdonalds in Minneola (the only one). I think it would be funny if a bunch of fbodys showed up for their little meet.

That would be interesting. This would have to be planned. Also need to see where exactly that is.

I could do it, but not for a couple months. My car is no where near being ready to cruise that far.
