Yup, just got home from driving it. Got a small boost leak somewhere but other than that it did great!
Intake temps only went up 15* or so on a 30-120mph pull compared to almost an 80* temp rise with the top mount same pull.

I left the hood with the scoop on the car, but removed the scoop so now all it is is a vent with expanded metal. Once I get ready to start prepping the car for paint is when I'll put the stock hood back on.

That and his rides like 2 inches higher than mine. I should have taken a picture of where my exhaust left a trail in his driveway.

prolly woulda made a funny pic?
whats the plan/plans? posi? spool? locker?
or weld the spider gears? gotta have 2 wheels to put the power down.
i was surprised that my car didnt "churp" around turns after welding it up. but i havent driven in the rain yet with it. ive heard so many horror stories about welding the spider gears over the years, that i never tried it. kinda like it now, before the tranny took a dump again, lol. put the center section in the oven on hi-broil for an hour, then welded it, then low-broil for 1/2 hr to slow cool. LMAO!
might have a trade going on for a new tranny pump? we'll see. bottom $ build here. but i sure have fun spankin people round here when she runs. gotta stop breakin stuff. just cant wait to try the bottle.

Not too worried about running around with the peg leg 3.42s with the 2.8T. The 3.4/3500 hybrid build will be backed by a T4 turbo and the Torsen, instead of the T3 and peg leg currently in the 2.8T.
I want people to say, "Thats a V6?!?!?!?!"

Well I'd like to do the Zexel Torsen unit like 84LSX, but i'm going with 2.72s. I have another 10 bolt courtesy of loneroad, thats what I'll build up.

got my car lifted up yesterday for the tranny removal. 6 jackstands and some extra blocks. cant be too safe. i saw a car start falling sideways off some stands once. grabbed the guys ankles and yanked him out just as the car fell! he came up swinging on me til he figured out what had happened, lol.
other friend lowered his SRT the other day. cut a groove in his new tires already. i guess somethings rubbing?

Depends on how big a shot. A small shot can be used to spool the turbo sooner, but i's have to be dotted and t's have to be crossed.

i dont know much about them except its a v-6 with dual overhead cams. he said hes gonna run the nitrous to a fitting right after the air filter. its only got 1 racing seat in it. i guess hes trying to lighten it up? its been sitting for years, but he did actually put a motor in it lately.

Shocks and struts will depend on your budget and again, what kind of car do you want? I prefer handling over straight line speed and will eventually upgrade to Koni yellows (sports) which run between $600-700. Right now I have kyb shocks which are more for street use.

some good looking cars on here!
low cars or a low exhaust can make speed bumps, jacking the car up, etc, a nightmare. but they sure look and handle a lil better.
im running lifetime warranty autozone struts, (so i'll need to change them every year, lol), about to install moroso front trick springs, (sitting in my closet). out back i have stock springs and billstien shocks. lower control arm relocation brackets, and poly swivel tubular control arms.
if you lower your car you should get an adjustable panhard bar and LCARB's to center the rear end.
diggin the blower motor 84! you got a spare driveshaft laying around too? thought i saw one on the floor in your pic.

That driveshaft is my main one, the car doesn't have it's engine and transmission in it yet lol. I do have a spare 9" though

i kept spare parts at my folks home for some reason. they sold it a few months ago. i had to pick up stuff. Pop put one of my spare driveshafts out back. totally rusted up.

street wars at showtime dragstrip in pinellas county if anybodys interested. i wanna be there for the next one, (about a month). represent your county. prolly gonna trailer my junk cause i always break chit, lol.

I was actually planning on going to street wars tonight with a friend. I may want to stay home and work on my car though

i might go to watch/wrench? got a nephew going in his SRT turbo. his brother might go too? need 4 guys for a team it says. looking for 2 more pasco registered cars. says you cant trailer a car, so i'd have to drive if my tranny worked. need mufflers and DOT tires. sounds awesome to me. i gotta get in on this.

It does sound fun, but my friend with his 72 Monte Carlo that we'd be taking doesn't want to drive it. I'd rather go once I have my car completely finished so that I can use that.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread
some good looking cars on here!
low cars or a low exhaust can make speed bumps, jacking the car up, etc, a nightmare. but they sure look and handle a lil better.
im running lifetime warranty autozone struts, (so i'll need to change them every year, lol), about to install moroso front trick springs, (sitting in my closet). out back i have stock springs and billstien shocks. lower control arm relocation brackets, and poly swivel tubular control arms.
if you lower your car you should get an adjustable panhard bar and LCARB's to center the rear end.
diggin the blower motor 84! you got a spare driveshaft laying around too? thought i saw one on the floor in your pic.

Well, since I was too lazy to shim my starter, despite the grinding and buzzing, I had to get a new one.
This one is shimmed, and boy, it's quiet now.
One of these days, I will learn to not put stuff off.
