Ugh, I want this so bad. I'm telling you all now, I'll own a Ferrari before I'm 25.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-348-leather-1993-ferrari-348-tb-serie-speciale-/281585101370?forcerrptr=true&hash=item418fc7aa3a&item=281585101370&pt=US_Cars_Trucks[/QUOTE]

hes not that desperate. its a decent car.

i welded with a guy that had a similar ferrari, but black. IIRC it cost him $5,000 for a clutch for some reason? and ferrari owners want all work documented, so he went to a dealer. maybe why it cost $5,000? bad-*** car up to speed. and a puzzy magnet!

its honestly a "small" cam. and im only using a dual plane EPS.
i wrote and called a few converter companys about a recommendation. they all recommended about the same, 3,000-3,500.
it seems odd to some, but if you think about it, the tuned peak torque of the EPS is 3,500, and the cam is about the same.
i've had many "bigger" cams, but it sux if it doesnt work on the street, unless its a race only car. sacraficing too much low end IMO.
I don't plan on racing anybody on the street, or even the track unless its a road course. I just want something that does what I like, which is high RPM, and extreme cornering capability.

Yeah, even if you do your own work, parts are super expensive. I don't mind though, its a labor of love. Those old Ferraris are slow by today's standards, but there's nothing like the experience of driving one.

Wish I could have gone out there today, but I scheduled a recording session for the morning and the guy never showed up, so it plugged up my day waiting on him.

Pretty good now! Although either my alt, or my battery died. And I think I've figured out my break up at high RPM issue, I damaged the dizzy cap putting the motor in the car, going to get a new one tomorrow.
Let me know if you ever want some decent photos of your car, Will is usually out this way helping me keep my pos on the road too.

Lololol. She's got good oil now! I replaced the cap and rotor today, no more break up! I just need to adjust where the throttle and TV mounts are on the carb plate and its good.

Lol  Wheres the oil?

Thanks for the Lcarbs man!

Cant wait to see what those springs do for the ride height. BTW, what size bolts am I going to need for those lcarbs? I know the one I will reuse, but I'll have to buy another for each side.

i'm pretty sure if you call founders they will sell you the bolts or give you the size. i ordered theyre bolts when i bought new control arms last year and they were $10.95.

They won't do anything to ride height, they just change the angle of the control arm. For me I needed it because mine were pointed upwards instead of level or down.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I found out that there is a big chance that I will be moving at the start of summer, which means I now have a deadline to finish this car because I will need to drive it across the country.

Doesn't seem too intimidating... Aside from getting a cross member for the 4l80e, getting the new torque arm cross member in with the subframe connectors, and making sure it can really handle a couple thousand miles of driving in a few months.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

Took my boss out to lunch in the car today. He loved it lol.

The torque isn't significant until 3000-3500RPM, And it pulls the whole way up to at least 6000-6500. I'm really loving its power band, I've only went WOT with it once and its amazing, it just pulls forever.

I do need to adjust the TV cable correctly though, it shifts into 3rd in the middle of its power band.

Now I want better heads, need moar POWRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

You can reset it before you leave work too. Just depress the tab and push the sleeve all the way to the firewall, then floor it from the passenger compartment.

I'd convert it to hydraulic. That way its easier to go to a T-56 if I chose.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

I'll never know what the hell is up with this car. Yesterday my voltages were way down, this morning they were way down. As I'm waiting to get on the 528 the voltages go back to normal and it starts misfiring. But it got me to work otherwise, so I guess I'll be fixing this in the parking lot.

I wish this thing would just run, I don't want to have to fix it every weekend.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

are you looking at the gauges in the car or using a voltmeter at the battery and alternator?

any paint between the alt and the brackets? did you put all the ground straps back on when you swapped engines?

i lost voltage after i pc'd my serp brackets. i had to remove the coating where the alt bolts to it.

all i can think of

Here's what's really crazy. Voltages went back to normal today, but the car misfires again. I'm going to get a alt and battery from Napa this weekend. So over this ****.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

if you don't have them, or even if you do. put the thick braided ground straps on the block to the body.

I'll have to get one, I do have a block to body ground already, but I'll upgrade it to one of those. I know something died or is dying, smells like electronics burning. I just haven't had the time yet to walk outside from work and check it out.

Hmm. I know that smell. Usually when someone cooks an alt and brings it in and says they want it tested. Dude I dont even need to test it to tell you its fried is what I usually say.

Make sure it isnt in that cluster of wires, and pull all fuses except for the ones you absolutely need to run.

Burning electronics and iffy voltages sound like you got a major short going on.

Most likely what it is. The smell comes from where the alt area.

I removed those wires. I cleaned up the harness last Sunday.

Just because you removed the wires doesn't mean they still don't have power. You need to pull the fuses.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread

did you ever move the hot wire from the alt to the starter? the one that went thru your headers?

it never hurts to ohm your battery cables either, and see if theres a lot of resistance. they can look good on the outside, but be corroded on the inside.

Yeah, I moved that one Sunday when I removed the extra wiring. I'll test my battery cables as well tonight.

New MSD coil on, still misfires. I need to check my plug wires and see if the issue is there. I pulled all unnecessary fuses as well.

I wont be able to come out this weekend. Get to wake up at 4 and go freeze my *** off in 30° temps with 15-20 mph winds. In fu*king florida. Really florida?

And I get to do the same thing again saturday morning. Really cant complain. The next 4 days is paying for my trans rebuild.
