Wish I could make this meet with my car, but now the engine is out and I'm tearing down my LS to hone the cylinders and get new rings/bearings/bolts in it
Good to see everyone else getting their cars driving!

I might show up in a 93 accord. 10psi is beating the **** out of this trans. 1st is already slipping and it randomly goes into neutral.

looks like fun to me!
i drained the fluid out of my tranny the other day. soon i had a giant puddle under the car. wtf? after a careful examination, one of my sons used my drain pan for target practice with they're bb gun. uhggg,...lol.
whats wrong with your carb?

Nothing wrong with the carb, its just a carb, doesn't like to start in the morning.
If its not raining later I'll get a vid of the car with the mufflers on, sounds pretty good if you ask me. Only this is the 3" tubing hits the ground so we ordered 2.5" to at least get it to my buddies shop to have him make exhaust for me and tune the carb and set the timing.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread
i dont have a choke on my carb. when its cold out i have to pump it a few times, then keep it running for a minute til she warms up.
is it dual exhaust?

Decided to mess with the servo. Removed one of two washers meant to be installed with the corvette servo. Used the servo pin out of my 89 core, has a larger feed/return fluid passage than the 87. The 89 pin also lacks the 2 scarf cut orings and the groove for them. Also swapped the servo cover that I ground fluid return notches into, for the one without notches. Swapped the springs from the 89 servo in as well, they were a little taller and stiffer.
Took it out and ran through the gears to get the air out, checked fluid and topped it off, I can tell you heat is not an issue; the cooler keeps the fluid cool and it never gets hot no matter how hard its pushed. Warm not hot.
Slippage is gone, still a little delay on the 2-3 but not nearly as bad. And when you nail the pedal its a rocket; grabs hard and goes hard. Pretty happy but still turning the boost down. I figure 6psi will be good for now and I will save up and accumulate parts for the rebuild.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread
got my tranny out earlier and pulled the front pump.
the input shaft looks very bad IMO.
and, i found a steel behind it that looks like a zip-wheel cut a groove through it.
really bummed.
the converter "looks" great inside, but how to test it? anybody got an idea?
looks like i'll be way inside this thing more than i thought.
did i mention i've never fully rebuilt a tranny before?
anybody do facebook here? send a pm.

Got mine turned down to 8psi, 6 or so more turns of the wastegate will bring me down to about 5-6psi, which is where I want it to be for now. Itll run better too due to less heat in the intake charge, and I can lean it out even more.
Took 10 minutes to pop the wastegate cover off, make a Mercedes Benz special tool, adjust the gate, and put the cover back on. Eazy peazy.
Now I just need some of those +150HP stickers!
SARCASM... LOL

I used to do that in GT5. It actually gets pretty boring in the 88 IROC Concept.
I want GT6 though.

My friend had a JDM ae86 which was pretty fun, but he traded it for a 240 a few days ago.

Dude, if i at least had 3rd, i would drive it daily. If you put it in drive or OD, it just slips like mad, and 3rd will not catch at all. I actually have to leave it in 2 so that it doesnt try to upshift to a gear that isnt picking up.

Re: Official Tampa, FL Area Thread
So, here's something weird that happened today.
I took the car out for a trip up and down my street. (I'm bored)
When going downhill, in O/D, the car will get to 50mph (steep hill)
Then, it starts to feel like 3rd gear is engaging, as in, rpms drop, car pulls itself, not just gravity.
but then, I start to go uphill, have to slow down for the big bump in the road, lose the momentum, and it slips all day again.

Drove the car around to day some more. Effortlessly makes it up to 80, without being at WOT. I can't imagine how WOT feels. I'm getting what seems to be vapor lock, after running awhile car gets hot and starts to breakup and run real bad.
