Mark your calenders! The 5th annual Destin Fbody Meet will be at 11am on April 5th @ the Hooter's in Destin, Fl. More info will be posted here as it becomes available. If you have not participated in the past it is a meet usually pulling in as many as 50 Fbodys of all generations from as far east as Tallahasee to as Far west as Mobile, Alabama. Come hang out and meet other area Fbody owners and then sit down and eat together to discuss and share our passion for these fine cars. Feel free to do a search for Destin Fbody Meet and view pictures from past years meet. This is a rain or shine event. If it rains, please come out anyways and join all the attendees for lunch and good conversation.

It is just a car meet, but if you got some parts or something you are looking to sell or to buy feel free to come to the meet and see if you can find someone to either buy from or sell to.

I have a plethora of parts to sell. It ranges from sheet metal body parts to interior parts. If the meet is mainly for the show cars then bringing large parts would seem inconvenient and a waste of time and effort on my part. I know that smaller stuff would work if that were the case. Anyway do you have an idea on what kind of parts people generally buy there?

I wouldn't call it a "Show" car meet. Some of the cars that participate are far from show quality or spend more time on the track than the street. People generally just get to talking and will say they are looking for this part or that part and another person sometimes speaks up and says hey I have one I will sell ya amd so a deal is made. Most commonly people are looking performance parts, or the smaller pieces light lights, trim, and interior pieces. The meet is mostly about making connections with others in the area who are big fans of Firebirds and Camaro's.

Good to know that there are daily driven cars at this one. Do people actually bring the stuff that they sell or are all the deals done outside the meet?

Yeah, most of the cars at the meet are driven regularly. Usually most deals are an on the spot kind of thing. Most come to the meet to make new conections and talk cars, so if any part sales occur, the deals made on the spot kind of thing or they arrange to make the exchange later.

You know, I might just be spontaneous and make a trip down to destin to participate in this meet. I live about 25 minutes north of atlanta, so it is about a 6 hour drive. That is considering my thirdgen is finished. If it isnt finished I might take a second gen T/A.

I love destin. The family and I vacation there every summer.

We have one couple that comes every year from Montgomery. They have family in Panama City, so they always plan a vacation and make the drive from PCB for the afternoon to participate in the meet.

Just gonna let you guys know that I'm in the midst of drafting a flyer for the parts I have for sale. If you wanna know the specifics of what I have then ask me as I will have a list that I will be able to show you with parts & prices. (Am I the only guy here that is hoping somebody shows up with a V6 3rd gen?)

I've been excited for this meet for a long time. It would be nice to make some connections and figure out where some good local Chevy swap meets are.

I know we have at least one v6 4th gen fbody coming, but I don't know of any v6 3rd gens yet.

Should be there in my turbo Iroc if I don't break it before then. I don't think it's going to handle too many more third gear accelerations like the one it did tonight! I need to upgrade more parts soon LOL

V6 thirdgen here...fat chance but, I may attend. Will be coming out of the Tampa area. A little over 6 hour drive according to mapquest. I'm sure I can shorten that being I would need to leave at 5am just to make it there by 11am.

For those coming from The west side of the panhandle area who want to meet up and cruise we will be meeting at the Lowes parking lot beside the Walmart in Gulf Breeze about 8:45am that morning. Planning on cruising out at 9:15am to get to the meet early to check in and make sure parking is secured.
