2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
I did some seaching and found the 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally has already been announced!
http://www.sunshinestatecamarorally.com/
I went to last years and it was a blast. This year the wife and I are hoping to get a room at the resort and stay for more than just the afternoon.
This is open to all year Camaros and Firebirds. Last year there were 5 of us 3rd gens in attendance and I know MadCelt wont be missing this one either. Hoping we can rally up the troops and put up a good number to represent the best gen. (oh btw not a single 2nd gen showed up last year, so we didnt have the worst showing!)

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
We booked our room for Saturday into Sunday. Anyone else plan on attending? It really was a great time last year and the night I left there, I thought, damn I cant wait until the next one. I really cant say enough how fun it was.

The guys on camaro5.com are asking anyone with older gens to spread the word to the other forums to try to gather as many people as possible. If anyone is a member of any other Fbody forums, spread the word!
They also are asking to get every Camaro club in Florida represented there.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
I guess the name was voted upon by the members of Camaro5.com, hence why the first year was dominated by 5th gens. They never intended it to be a Camaro only event, nor should it be a 5th gen only event. They didnt feel it should be an "F-body" event because they say the 5th gens arent techincally F-bodies. Anyhow, since we are onto year 2, they say the name is sticking now. Its just a name anyway and Birds are just sisters to Camaros anyway... it's all good.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
I tried telling them that the name is critical and by having it as Camaro rally, they are isolating the Firebirds. They didn't want to listen. I went last year without my car to take dents out. There was a beautiful grey 5th gen with a dent on the body line of the passenger door. I had to get that out!!
I'm thinking about taking the car this year. 01PewterZ28 is a co founder and said he will get my tools down to the show for me cuz I won't haul them in my car. The other problem with last year was that I talked to some people with third gens, but they took their 5th gen. The show needs a better turn out of 2nd and 3rd gens.

If you havent been to the website lately, you NEED to check it out. They have re-done the entire site and it's 100% better than the old site. Picture, links, information... it's great.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Ive seen some advertising on facebook and a few other sites. A friend and I are considering the ride from the Savanah area in our third gens. I go every year I can to the gathering and this sounds like it will be just as much fun.
Id like to see more third gens consider this show as well. Im going to see if I can get some others in my area interested in going.

Sounds like a really fun time! I live in NC and would be willing to drive down. I work in the racing industry and it's during my "busy season" at work but luckily I dont have a race that weekend!!!

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Well last year we had some folks from New Mexico, Maryland, and someone from Washington State won the Long Hauler Award.
I was only there for one day last time and it was great. 2 days may be an overload on the fun meter!

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Well, so far, according to the bookings they have, they are on pace to blow the attendance numbers from last year out of the water. They still dont know what the actual breakdowns for each generation are, but they have been heavily stressing to try to get more older gens involved as last year was dominated by 5th gens. Im sure we will see more than 6 3rd gens this year.. well, at least I hope so!

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
They have officially passed the total number of pre-registered cars that they had last year. They currently sit at 93 cars and will most certainly pass 100. Last year they had a total of 120 cars in attendance with 92 of them being pre-registered, this year looks to be much bigger. If anyone is even partially on the fence about going... Im telling you, this is going to be great! They even have one sponsor bringing a mobile dyno!! Cant wait to hear some of those new ZL1's ripping it up and throwing down some serious power.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Scott, I've actually got 2 small fish eye dents in my passenger door right on the rubber door guard. How much would you charge to pop those out? They are super shallow and almost not noticable (in fact I didnt even see them until a month after buying the car)

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Every dent is different as far as accessibility and shape. If they are small and not locked in behind the door brace, both dents should be about $100. Again, this is site unseen and could be less. This price is quoted as site unseen and is a worst case scenario based on a 2 dent price.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Well, it's getting close now! I extended my stay at the resort to 2 nights. This is going to be a blast. Over 102 cars are registered now. Last year only 75 had pre-registered and 121 showed up. By that math, we should be looking at well over 150 cars this year.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
I had lunch with Sean (01pewterz28) today and he said that he has a few more sponsors also. Sounds like the show will be a blast and very well run. I might have to take a day off to play.
BTW, I just reread my post above to devestator_x. The cost for the dents was total, not per dent. Just thought I'd clarify.

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
Just one week away now! Already there are 125 cars pre-registered for the show, eclipsing last years mark of 120. Last year 75 pre-registered, they are estimating to have over 160 cars if the ratio of cars that show compared to pre-registers stays the same. This is going to be huge!

Re: 2nd Annual Sunshine State Camaro Rally
The trailer selling GM Licensed shirts and hats had a cool shirt with a 3rd gen on it, so I had to have it. The shirt manufacturer is Laid Back USA. I thought it was kinda coincidental that the shirt color matched my car until I got a closer look. That's when I realized that my car was used for the 3rd gen in the photo!!!! How cool is that!!! Look at the orientation of the front and rear rims, the rear window louvers and the bright reflection on the front ground effects. I even looked at the seat belts looking for differences, but there aren't any. Woohoo, I now have my car on Official GM Licensed products!
