Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
you have no idea. It was beautiful. Alot of work was put into and it had alot of history. His father bought it new and drove it till the 2000's everyday before it got it. It was around for his whole childhood.
thanks.
thanks.

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
i honestly can say i never liked any of the late 70s and 80s el caminos always thought they were too boxy......
But DAMN that one looks hawt. I guess it all depends on what you do to it.
Hope he can find it in one piece bro :/
EDIT in: Btw is that a Monte front clip? Can say i never saw a camino w/ it before :x but then again never see them that often where i am.

It has a lot of time in it. There has been a lot of theft's around here lately. a 69 camaro in a tailer. a chevelle. And a lot of other nice cars lately.

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
That's a bad a$$ camino sorry to hear it was stolen your best bet is to look for part within a few hundred miles my buddy had his 87 monte ss stolen from his driveway last summer and searched craigslist and saw his custom interior for sale in chicago and called the police they actually recovered most of the car minus stereo/rims and custom guages.. kinda sucked though he had to pay for a tow from chicago to minneapolis + impound fees and had to put his car back together.

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
Up in Knoxville I saw a black SS El Camino with the same wheels leaving an Advance Auto Parts store - Oddly enough, it had a recently purchased paper tag on it...... hmmmm...
I think the wheels may have been polished, but they were the same TT2 style.
The driver side door had some kind of paint damage on it in the center; looked like it was hit too hard with a buffer - very faint, I noticed it on an angle, but it was in the center of the door, looked about 4" in diameter.

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
I kept eyes peeled for it here over the weekend during a major car event down in MS. Can't imagine what it must feel like for your friend. Was there glass on the driveway or was it towed off or did it look like someone had a copy of a key?

No glass, taken on a roller, was spotted a few hours after it was stolen on a rollback at a gas station.

Damn... That is horrible. I am going to invest in a nice car alarm after I get my car going again and painted. Keep us updated.

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
yea, My friend is pretty heartbroken over it.. The car was blocked in by a 4 door dodge and a trailer in front of it. they pushed the trailer up against the garage and somehow got to the car..

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
Actually I think I might have seen that exact car/truck yesterday on 485 heading towards Monroe NC. I remembered seeing it and saying damn thats a sweet looking camino. I dunno if that helps any, but the vehicle I saw looked exactly like the one pictured, same color and rims.

Re: STOLEN 1984 Elcamino SS
I know this is old, but my heart goes out to your friend. Super nice El Camino and it breaks my heart just to imagine that car up on a rollback in the process of being stolen by some ghettos punks...
