BEWARE OF TRILOGY CAR SHOW IN GASTONIA, NC!!!!
ok so our car club goes to trilogy car show this morning, mayjor dissapointment. now the show is for a member who died in a car club that they hold every year on april 20th but from what we saw they know nothing about judging cars. i spent a week getting my engine prepared for the show because that is the only thing that i have going for me since the car is half primered due to a wreak a couple months ago. so my engine is spotless. i cleaned and degreased the whole thing, then polished the runners, ac lines, ac condenser, i even polished the soon to be removed smog lined in the exhaust manifold and the brake lines. ill post pictures so you can see what i mean. and cleaned and waxed what paint is on there (from the doors back) the tires were ok they are missmatched. but back too the point .they based it on a 10 point scale. ex. paint, body, interior, trunk, wheels and tires, engine, and saftey equipment (found this one odd). well i got 1 on body (ok i see that), 1 one paint (thats odd the paint from the doors back is almost perfect), the engine got a 5 (what!!! i had multiple people come up to my engine wide eyed saying that "that was a clean a$$ engine" one guy asked me what year it was so i told him 89 he said that it was clean as crap"), 3 on interior (this too was spottless), and what makes the cake is one of our car club members just had his truck painted a two toned blue and silver a few week ago and they gave him a 2. so a note to you guys who live near here if there are any. be aware that if you go next year dont expect anything unless you know them because the guy leading the show happened to just know 95% of the people like they were close friends (seems fishy). so to sum it up this show was

you have to build your car to make you happy. otherwise. youll spend your whole life trying to please people whos opinons shouldent matter at all anyway,

LOL! Don't take it too hard, man! As long as you're happy with your car, that's all that matters. I show my car knowing good and well that it's not going to score worth a crap no matter how clean my engine bay is (mine looks a lot like yours currently). I just go to the shows to shoot the bull with the other guys and look at some nice cars. Occasionally, I'll get someone who takes a fit over my vert, and that makes me feel really good.
Your engine bay looks nice. I would have easily scored it around a 7. Anything higher than that would need to be a car that has had a complete restoration. But I have to be honest with you, I would have given you a 1 on paint even if you were my best friend. ... That's hilarious. Unless a custom 3-toned paint scheme (including primer) is what you were going for. You have to admit, a 1 is pretty fair for you on paint.
Get that 355 in, get that sucker painted, and knock their socks off.
