i'm down in daytona beach for vacation this week, and was wondering if you guys knew of any reasonably close cruise ins or car related festivities?

im from daytona and there really isnt anything going on unless its the 3rd saturday of the month at destination daytona harley shop. other than that there are shows that turn up in the paper.

 

ah... so i missed it by a day. awesome. i wasn't looking for anything formal.. but up north we have certain places where the local car people just get together; syracuse its the dunkin donuts on thompson blvd... canton ny its the dairy queen, big flats ny its a shopping plaza parking lot, etc. is there anywhere like that in daytona?

 

no that I know of. Us few guys here on TGO meet at a walmart whenever we can.

 

Years ago, some people used to meet in the parking lot across from the La Playa on beach side. Drop in an Advanced Auto and see if they have the latest issue of the "Cruise News." It's a free publication some of them have. Towards the back there is a listing of local shows with dates & times. I usually grab a copy for my dad whenever I am in buying oil, etc.

 

i looked into it, and there's a huge cruise in at old town friday night, but because my car is an 88 i need to have a spoiler, be lowered, have custom paint or a body kit, etc to participate. i am off by 1 year.. if it were an 87 i would be cool just as she is. oh well. guess i will just have to go get drunk and party elsewhere.

 

Tell them it is an 87. I did that with my 88 GTA. Like any of them would know.

 

Kwik always tells it like it is if i were going i would do the same thing. i have the wrong spoiler on my 88 t/a no third brake light and a camaro 3rd gen console. but what they dont know wont hurt them! i say go anyway

 

I try to shoot from the hip. No bs'n. My credentials say 87. I haven't tried to use it for the 98 yet. The 98 is modified enough for sure, but I hate dealing with people asking me questions. "Is it stock?". yup, sure is!
