F-body Meet Spring '07 - Columbia SC
Anyone interested in reviving our meets?
We ( a buddy and Myself) are talking about building a f-body site for SC, with club affiliation to the Worldwide Camaro Club. Anyone down for that?
if we get enough participation we'll go forward, but the last meet was kind of dismal.

Not asking to move it to a non-weekend, just can't commit til I know which weekend it is.

cool sounds like we're getting alot of interest in this. Perhaps we should shoot for mid march? that way it would give enough folks time in advance to plan something?
what do you all think?

Went by the CMC in Gaston yesterday and they've got several f-bodies, mostly V6's and one I4 which was pretty cool. Anyway if anyone's interested there was a pontiac dash pad that was in fair condition. I saw one hole in it 'bout the size of a screwdriver bit. May be worth a look if your's is in worse shape. They took $20 for the perfect camaro pad I got (had to gloat). I also picked up a pair of grey seatbelt receivers that weren't broken ($15 for the pair). I'm lucky with the camaro though, grey interior pieces are the most common. Oh, yeah saw a dual fan setup sitting in the engine bay of a V6 car. I'd make sure it was for an f-body before you snag it though. Also saw a T-top bag, cargo cover in black, overhead console, got any questions you can PM me.

they have any retractors? for the seatbelts I would like to snag couple of those to store. But yeah lol not bad on pad I actually ripped a clean one no cracks or nothing out of a V6 berlinetta at the scrap yard, I just busted the front windshield out popped out the 4 screws and gone. The guy said $5 dollars, I went pshhhh.

thats a deal and a half for both those pads.
I need to get out junkin again, its been too long and usually you can find some good stuff round columbia.
Anyways, we've set date and time for March 10, 2007 at 1pm. At carolina Wings in west columbia, sc. It's off of HWY 1 (augusta hwy)
From I 20 get off on exit 58 i believe, and head towards columbia. You will pass 2 flea markets on the left, then go under I 26 bridge. You'll then pass a wal mart on the right, and come to a bi-lo parking lot on the right, with a hobby lobby in the complex as well. that's where carolina wings is. It's no more than a quarter of a mile past the wal mart on the right.
Tell everyone you know with fbodys, there's no reason to just keep us Thirdgen centric, (even though we've got the best body style )

Awesome. I used to go to Columbia often, so I should have no problem getting there. In case of anything, I'll just ask around for "Carolina Wings"...

cool. sounds like were going to have a good group show up. Ill most likely be in my purple people eater. I dont know if ill bring any of the others, maybe the sunset car or my droptop.. depends. I know some friends that may wanna go too.. so we're tryin to get everyone together.. remember to pass the word, to everyone you know that has an fbody. It will be very simple, very easy going, laid back. NO formal structure. We will discuss possibilites of getting a forum and some structure to our group though i think its only right. personally i dont have any feeling to be leading another club, but ill do what i can to assist in a local fbody club if we can get one up..
we'd need a name and thats one thing that we gotta figure out.
I though
Palmetto Fbody Associaton.. but I dunno.. what do you all think?
PFBA
for short.

thirdgenman, check your distributor, inside it is your HEI module, those usually are the culprits when the car just randomly stops working. We had to just replace a buddy of mines in his 88 gta.. did the same thing, wouldnt fire back up to save its life.. that fixed the problem right up.
other than that, i hope you get her running.
lthrneck, we set the date as 3/10/07 at 1pm.. at carolina wings in west columbia, sc.
HOpe to see yall there..

I'm pretty sure there isn't, but is there going to be some sort of club fee or pay for something (besides the food, of course), I just need to know if I need to bring extra $$$...?

no, just buy your own food and hang out and enjoy yourself. We havent yet figured out the Caorlina Fbody site or what it takes to be an affiliate of worldwide camaro yet. So we're workin on that still. I think that overall we'll have a good turnout, and it should be fun to meet everyone. I may try to pick up some blank name tags, so everyone can write their names down and we'll know each other that way.. cause i am real bad with names.
Thirdgenman, im glad it was just the module. They do that sometimes. Not to bad a fix, just itrritating.
glad to hear your back up and running!

True. but hopefully we can get everyone together, and start this crap and do it right. I hope that we cna get folks to love the Fbody as much as mustang ownersw do for clubs and stuff. as it now, i feel that the mustang and vette owners have all the cool meetings and clubs and stuff.
hopefully by trying these meets we can make it evolve into more. by using these meets as a medium to guage interest and to asisst folks with networking of people who own these cars!
