In this thread I figured i'd post up everytime i see a third gen and where rouglhy, what type, what year as close as i can see, and when I saw it.... hopefully, this will help us get more of us together, and also to see if each other is on this forum too!


Yesterday 8/9/06 I saw a black convertible Z/28 91or 92 turning onto Bower Parkway from Piney Grove road. It had its top down. The Guy driving it stared at MBremer who was a car in front of me in his Black 87 IROC and then Me in my Sunset Z28..

Anyone else spot a thirdgen anywhere in the Midlands of SC?

Red '91 F-bird Vert with a black top on Broad River near Harbison Forest. I saw it around 1 PM today. Sharp-looking car.

saw a red thirdgen camaro with silver gfx, and broken window wipers on the way to work today.. they were making a right onto hwy 302.

my 40k mile metallic blue 91 formula is a daily driver here in lexington. Tuned Port 305 5spd, factory "performance enhancement" package (twin cats/engine oil cooler/3.42 lim slip etc) 4 wheel disc brakes plus some suspension and chasis work.

i met mbremer last week. nice guy. told him i'd like to find out when the next autocross is here in the columbia area. would love to run mine...

Wow, 40K miles is low miles. Your Formy sounds like a great car.

The next autocross is in Orangeburg next Saturday. September's is in Florence. Here's a link to the SCCA South Carolina region's webpage, http://http://www.scr-scca.com/modules/news/. You missed the June and July State Fairgrounds autocrosses. Also there is usually a early season event at White Knoll High School.

There's an '87-'89 Black RS in my neighborhood in Lexington off Old Two Notch. Nice, clean looking car. Yet to meet the owner though...

I saw a later model teal Z28 today at the Target on Harbison. I think the owner may work there. It was moving towards leaving the parking lot, but I did not have the time to stop and try and talk to the owner.

I didn't get a good look at it to see if it was a hardtop or t-top car. The car looks great from a distance. Anyways I believe that I seen the car around before.

Saw a red Firebird (I think lol, not good with the firebirds and tas) yesterday at Leesburg/Garner's Ferry.

Steve, what kind of news? Right now nothing much going on, but yesterday I did get most of that stupid tree sap off my car, and I clay barred it (tho thats not what got the tree sap off), washed it, waxed it. It looks pretty good now, I'm not so mad at it anymore LOL, I will take some pictures today and post them. Any more get together planning yet? I just love seeing all these other cars. And judging by all the sightings on this thread, I'm thinking we should be hanging up flyers lol.

Spotted a nice black Z28 hardtop, 91-92 on Old Two Notch Rd about 430p.

Spotted a late 80s dark blue Firebird parked at a house on Old Two Notch Rd about 550p.

And...spotted Bob's Black vert Z28 at WildWing Cafe. I parked beside him with my Blazer, but never saw him inside. Sorry we missed you, again.

i saw a red 91-92 RS at a car dealership in West Columbia next to Piggie Park adn across the street from Kmart. I assume its the same one thats been there fora bout a month for sale.

i have stopped and looked at this car b4. i didnt think it was anything special. it had high miles, and, if i remember correctly, it was only a V6. Also, the entire car has been resprayed, wheels, lights and all lol.

saw a good looking red 91-92 rs camaro on Airport BLVD right before the overpass near Platt Springs Road today on my way to work. it was pulled on the side of the road and the driver was looking for something in the car.

Yesterday I saw a really nice blue early third gen camaro on gervais street, and today I saw another really nice blue one on garners ferry road. the one I saw today had those black things (louvers??) on the rear glass, but it was a super nice looking car.

I saw a white one (Camaro) at Leesburg and garners ferry intersection today, I see it often around here. And today a girl that just started working with me told me she has a camaro, i went to leave and saw it, it's a red third gen. Awesome, now someone to talk to about something interesting at work now.

Saw a red 3rd Gen bird at Lexington Wally World tonight. Parked beside it w/ the Blazer. Bird is in need of a good bath, but looked well kept otherwise.

UGH I missing mine, paint shop better have her finished Monday. lol

I passed a cherry Ultra Blue '91 RS V8/5spd. the other day coming home from work in Mooresville, NC. I saw it again about 6 hrs. later and the whole right side was tore up.

saw a black thirdgen IROC at the flea market on 501 in florence this weekend when I went to the beach. Sorry to hear bout your kids car.. that really sucks.

On the way to work this morning i saw : 1 red 84 ish Camaro.. looked to be in good shape driving down airport blvd..
then as i got on to 302, i saw a dark red 87ish Camaro z28 as well..

There was a beautiful 2nd Gen Z28 in Lexington at Lexington Family Practice. Brown/tan color, very clean, well kept, GREAT looking car.

This I saw a.. and I saw a.. is getting kind of boring. You need to include some stories.

Like last Tuesday evening I head out from work towards Columbia on Leesburg Road and my brake pedal starts sinking a little more each time i hit it. I figure best to keep going as the emergency brake works and by the time I'm going past the airport it's the only thing working. Well, get to the house, check under the wheels and sure 'nuff fluid's all over the left front wheel. Bounce the puppy up and find the hose leaking and master cylinder dry. Bum a ride to AZ in Lexington from my next door neighbor, pick up new hoses and calipers (9.99 each..why say no?). Get back and spend the last remaining daylight pulling the pieces off but it's dark before I can start hanging new parts. Figure it's time for some beer. Around the corner is Bilo so I head down (in the wife's Jetta-camaro's in front of it and I have to move it anyway) and see a white SC in the lot near Blockbuster. It's probably a 6 but I notice it has the steel wheels and he's missing all of his center caps. (I used to have these wheels on my camaro but swapped to the aluminum wheels when I found two of them out of round.) Into Bilo and they're out of rolling rock so I have to pick up some Yuengling (yes on occasion I Yingle). Back outside the camaros still there. I poke my head in blockbuster and ask who's camaro? It's near closing time and one of the staff points to a kid in back. "Hey you need some center caps for your wheels? I've got a set of four in my garage." He doesn't know what to think. "I mean it, no charge. I took them off my camaro over two years ago and just want them to go to a good home." He says OK, says he's had the camaro for 2 years, still thinking maybe I'm looking for some kind of angle. I run home pick them up and drop them off. I'm thinking when I was his age I had a 76 LT Camaro with only three center caps and too cheap to ever buy the missing one. (I did, however, have the baddest dual exhaust and the restrictor plate mod- but that's not exactly "street legal" so let's keep it on the "down low".)

So this kid had a sweet looking white SC.. I like the camaro's without gfx cause you don't see them everyday.. I told him about thirdgen.org and he probably still thinks I was cruising....

I bought the '76 in 1981....

That's nice and all, but sometimes there isn't a story to go along with the spot. The whole point of it is to get possible 3rd Gen owners who lurk and don't post to speak up and say 'Hey, that was me' and meet some new people.

Spotted a dark grey 3rd gen bird on Airport Blvd about 215p. About the same time we saw a jet liner making a HARD bank to the right back toward the airport, flying VERY low. Didn't hear a crash though, thank god.

Sorry, dude. The "boring" reference was just a lead-in to my story. No offense intended.

Bled the system the next morning and everything's better than ever. Should have bit the bullet last summer and replaced the hoses and calipers then, when I put in new pads. No worries.

saw a killer looking red rs in NC on my way up to va today.. it was at a Waffle House parkinglot, had torque thrust 2 's on it it looked like and also a cowl hood.. clean ride i think.

On I-26 going to Ashville this morning, about 850, near St. Andrews rd, I passed a really nice looking red Z28 with ttops, 91-92. Very clean, tinted windows, looked good.
