MPH shows how much power the motor is making. ET shows how well your car is working. If you have a high mph but a slow ET. That means your car is not leaving correctly or is spinnig. Midnight posted he went 9.0@83mph. He said his car was not leaving correctly but picking up around 1/2 track. That mph shows he could run low 8's if the car would leave correctly. I have ran 7.9's at 84 with a 1.67 60ft with my old car. If midnight would put a 3500-4000 stall in his car with a gear his car would easily run mid 7's if not faster. But convertors are high so he is going to stick with what he has right now. Maybe I can make it to Greer next Thursday and check the car out and see if run. Did you get a Power Valve for it? Good Luck!

Gotcha...thanks Chris.

Xceleratemaro, you might want to take a vaccum reading on the motor to make sure you have the correct power valve. It might be saying open and just jumping unneeded fuel into the motor.

Once you get the car going again buy or borrow a vacuum gauge and hook it up to a vacuum source off the intake or carb. Once you know the vacuum of the motor you can get the right PV. Since the cam is very small you will probably be ok with the 6.5 PV but it never hurts to check just to make sure. The PV can cause a lot of problems. When you take the reading make sure the car is in gear and at idle. Take that reading and divide it by 2 and get a PV that is close to that figure. This is how Barry Grant told me how to find the correct PV.

Also whats wrong with the transmission?

Ed, I'll be there this weekend, but I won't have my T/A. I'll be driving something for a friend of mine.
He usually reserves spaces down by turns 3&4, near the "Little Trees" sign. If you wanna stop by,
just look for a hugger orange '70 Chevelle SS in the area I just mentioned.

speedfreak918, I would agree with you Shadyside is alot better then Greer. Shadyside's track is better and you don't seem to have to wait as long in the staging lane when you are running your car. I don't have a car to run right now so I don't want to waste the money driving to Shadyside so I will stick with Greer. But once the car is ready to run I will take it to Shadyside instead of Greer.

Yep, the line at greer is a PITA. I used to get there at 5:30 on thursday and get about 5 passes in by 6:30 then mabye get 2 more in by 10 o clock.

I dont have a trackworthy car right now either.

Greer was close to me when I lived in SC but Im in NC now and shadyside is closest(still 45 minutes). Lived around Taylors so I got spoiled driving 10 min's to the track.

Hey Gator_Z28, No we left Friday evening due to the rain coming in, the spots we had were in the dirt and I didn't want to be there in the mud. We did go out to Kevin Whitaker's Saturday night, that was a good show, and we are leaving Saturday morning at 6am to go to the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge.
We need to get a date started floating around for a get together, maybe in the next two weeks or so.

I agree, What about a Sonic's, I was thinking maybe about the one in Easley on Hwy 123, that way it's in the middle, closer for the Clemson guys and about the same distance for the Greenville guys, maybe we can get more from the Anderson area as well.

Well hawks how about thinking about us up here in Rock hill (me, Ebmiller, and Topless91rs). We already have a hour and a half to drive. I'll travel to Mauldin road but I'm not going any farther than that.

BTW- Topless and Ed, we need to meet up again. It was fun meeting both of ya. maybe we can go to tubbys or something. Just give me a call on the cell at 803-524-6415.

Well Gator, money doesn't grow on trees bud, and my gas mileage isn't the greatest. If you guys are stuck on having it in damn easley then we'll just have a seperate one here in Rock Hill. Xceleratemaro and ricebeater said they'd already come up.

Whats up L98!!

Yeah we've been talking about getting a bunch of us down there. Chris, call me whenever you see this and maybe instead of a meet in easley you could come up here and we could do some 1/4. Let me know because I'm definitely going to this. Ed would you be interested. If so just call me and well figure something out. Topless91, you being a member of SCFYB also should already know about this.

Later,
Brian

Brian, yeah I saw that. Trying to get my car back together after Rockingham, my vaccum control valve for my heater blew out and burned the crap outta my arm and I blew my transmission mount out, I guess after 145,000 miles it needed to be changed anyway, I'll see what I can do but no guarantees right now.

I just got the car back from getting the hood painted and its raining. When the weather gets better I'll get a pic.
