Houston area guys

Have any of ya'll gone to the meets that are on westeimer and beltway 8??? im from angleton, 45 minutes south of houston and ive been once, i went to 3 different meets that one night and all of them had good turn outs, the biggest turn out was at a Conns parking lot and there was a Taco Cabana right on the corner, that one had TON's of cars there, it was a mix of everything though, from imports, to muscle, to "slabs" lol, lowriders, classics, all of that was there and the parking lot was filled.

I was just wondering if any of the 3rd gen'rs went out there, i rode up there in my '76 Camaro when i went but next time im gonna take the Iroc.

plus its an hour and a half from me so i need to make plans so i can have a good sized group of cars go with me so i dont go for nothing lol. Im thinking about heading up there this saturday.

oh and the meets where from like 9 pm to whenever... i left like at 2am and there were still tons of people out there.

I forgot to mention that the the Cons meet was the place with the mixed variety of cars and that meet was kinda too loud, you know, people showing off, doing donuts, loud music, stuff like that that you were cautious to look out for cops.

the last meet was at a Sams club off of beltway 8 and that was the meet to where the more serious people were, they had the cars that were like ours and kinda kept it quite and didnt show off, well most of them. It was a more calm environment.

the first meet we went to planet zero and there were a few cars then it got shut down.

I have heard of the meet down at Conns. I personally don't go because its across town from where I am. I live a bit north of there in Spring, where nobody ever races...

Re: Houston area guys

That's why I never go, someone always screws it up for the others. My brother goes to the meet at the Walmart on Dixie Farm Rd in Pearland on Friday nights, one of his buddies has a twin turbo 2011 Camaro SS and loves to show it off. I'm not scared of cops, my car is all legal, just don't need a nosey cop to pop my hood.

Haha yea that sounds like conns with a bunch of jack @**, i wouldnt mind getting a small group together and take a cruise every once in awhile and actually enjoy my ride which is stock but appreciate what it is, and have a few good car conversations.but out there nobody really like to talk about them out there just like to rev engines when the engine is stock.

Re: Houston area guys

Well I think I might be able to head over to westheimer this weekend and meet y'all up there, I need to fix an exauhst leak on my car first.

How many people do y'all have heading out there already? And is it just 3rd gens or just f body's in general? I can drive my 87 Iroc up there and then have a buddy drive my 76 Camaro up there.

all f-bodies are welcome, well everyone is welcome really we don't discriminate

We never really know how many will show up each month, its typically between 8 and 20 cars and slightly more people. Depends who's playing football that day also

We will meet 2-5pm at Texadelphia on 6025 Westheimer Road. It may be crowded due to football season, so we may be in the overflow lot behind Mama's Cafe, next door.

If you get there early try to save some spots for us to park together!

Thsts nothing, you prolly didnt go out there in early 00's when it was heavily infedted with ricers. I will say this though, literally could get some runs in. And cruise for a while. All kinds.of perf cars would be out in force on saturday nites. I use to hang out with a clan we formed. Met most of those guys out there. It started gettin bad with the cops after the kmart lot raid. Cops were really not that bad before that. literally had multiple cars going at it from a light at same time. 3 even 4 at a time.

LOL, heavily infected with ricers....I remember those days! Bunch of jackasses running around in their moms civic with a fart cannon. Actually helped us out cause they wern't really targeting muscle anymore, cops were looking for ricerburners!

I would really love to get out to a meet but I never have the freak'n time! I'm on vacation this wk & my boss is having me go in on Sat for a shrimp-boil...what a vacation... I try not to miss any of the major ones tho, like the round-up or tk that **** was unbelievable!

leaking intake gasket possibly, chasing a pressurized crank case when in boost (only 5 psi), need to set up a catch can too, oil is spraying out of the two breathers that are just on the valve covers

Before you go setting up a catch can, try using a baffled
breather grommet. Worked for me!
