Dyno Results from this morning
well i finally got the Camaro on a dyno (Dyno Jet), there was a CMC group that rented the dyno at HPE in northwest houston, it was $40 for 3 pulls, not a bad deal.
I had a best RWHP of 295 and a best RWTQ of 360, i'll post the graph up once i scan it. *These numbers are low because my current y-pipe is crushed to the equivalent of a 1.75" pipe on both sides*, so once i get it sorted out i expect to pick up 10-15hp, we'll see!
Anyways it was a fun morning, it would be fun to do a TGO dyno day sometime if we got enough people together to make it reasonably cheap!?

Re: Dyno Results from this morning
actually 300whp/350wtq was what i was expecting, its a zz4 crate motor rated at 355fwhp and 405fwtq with 1.75" longtubes with TQ tubes, a carb, no serpentine belt, no air filter, and an electric water pump, etc.
i'm only seeing a 17% hp loss and 11% tq loss through the drive train and accessories, WITH a shittty y-pipe and 1&5/8" longtubes, and a HSR (still not as good as a carb but better than stock tpi), i'm rather impressed to be honest!

Not bad man, if you went with the bigger headers and duals you might see 15 HP, but that thing is not losing much to the ground, not bad.

I wouldn't really go by the hp numbers they rate that motor at. Everytime I've seen someone do an engine dyno on any GM crate motors, they show 10-25hp more than what it's rated at.

Re: Dyno Results from this morning
well here's an engine dyno, 1 3/4" longtubes, velocity stack, e-waterpump, just like GM dynos their motors
Westech unwrapped the ZZ4 and immediately strapped it onto its Superflow 901 engine dyno for its first flogging. GM claims the ZZ4 will make a respectable 355 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. This particular motor cranked out 349 hp at 5,400 rpm and squeaked by with 380 lb-ft at 4,100 (see Test 1). Not quite up to par in the torque department, but that could be attributed to the large 13/4-inch headers that Westech has used in all the Gladiator's testing.
"test 1" is an stock zz4:

well man i can tell you what most good people tell me. and they are ones that own dyno's.
its a good tuning tool. 1/4 mile times are the true test.

Re: Dyno Results from this morning
With choked exhaust and a tiny cam that the ZZ4's have, the numbers you made are pretty respectable. I'd like the see the wide-band A/F ratio graph.

Re: Dyno Results from this morning
good numbers. Where did you dyno at? I need a tune for my LS1 trans am and my friend may fly down to tune it as well as other cars, i just need a dyno local to do it all
PS i got my thirdgen tuning stuff down here, just need chips and adapter for the ecm. Anyone needing some tuning and would like me to try I can offer assistance

I bought ALL the tuning stuff (cables/chip burner/software) but i never figured up how to hook up to data log or anything, i'd like to learn this summer though, and hopefully i'll have some mods that will need it

Re: Dyno Results from this morning
Great results! I have been thinking of switching to the HSR.
Those are similar to mine.. i was having fuel delivery issues though.. i am going back to Ed Wright soon to re-tune and see what I picked up.
I am running an L31 350, Vortec Heds, ZZ-4 Cam, SLP Headers, Stock TPI.
