93 looks (so far), and no comments?
Gotta be some story there Jay, or are you just trying to whet my appetite?

Re: LSX 455 w/ LS-7X Warhawk heads
These photos are when we were staying up last night assembling. The sixth bolt was a trick that I will not reveal how we did it due to the warhawk heads not lining up to the lsx block, but we figured it out and dont have it shown in any of these pics

I will have to stick with the old school motors for a while, but when it is 496 time we will see what happens, i will still be a manual trans too.

Good job on getting those Warhawk heads to bolt up. It was because of that issue that I decided to go with AllPro's LSW 12deg head.

So are you guys gonna say what the issues are and indulge the rest of us? Or just run in circles withholding info that might help fellow thirdgenners?
Neil what was the issue that strayed you from the WORLD heads

Dennis, the 6-bolt provisions on the Warhawk heads do not line up with GM's LSX block. They do line up with their own blocks though.

I dont think owen has sat down and figured a final cost yet, We are going to be dynoing it , hopefully by next week, it will hopefully be running today if we dont have any major issues. We are thinking 550-600 to the wheels through a th-400 and 12 bolt , but we will see

Re: LSX 455 w/ LS-7X Warhawk heads
With the 496 it should be over 600 with a built T56, i hope to retain A/C, but i am not sure what belt system will allow to use a A/C with a big block in a 3rd gen...., oh yea, it will be a two stage 300 hit of dope on top of that.

Re: LSX 455 w/ LS-7X Warhawk heads
Depending on how much you build the 496 , maybe . We have had a couple built one in our 67 corvette, High compression motor, good everything through a 200r4 and we have a 496 in the blue 67 chevelle we built. That T-56 will blow sky high behind any kind of power
----------
Ive got two kits worth 450 on mine, owen had 400 on his 408 and we are talking more on the ls-x

My 496 build will be 700 on motor and you do the math on the added 300 kit, i am aiming for 1000 and this will all be done with 93 octane in the tank, i drive my cars heavily on a regular basis so i dont do the race fuel thing. It helps with 110 or whatever, but then my HP goal would be higher.

Re: LSX 455 w/ LS-7X Warhawk heads
hey guys i have a lot of questions about the 454 your building. first off i am new at this sort of thing i read alot on it and try to understand what is going on but sometimes i am lost. my first question is why didnt you go with the warhawk block and you went with the gm lsx block?? also i talked to some people over at world castings about the warhawk block and head choice cam selction etc. and they said that the ls7 12 degree heads with the 285 cc intake runners are for boost apps in full on race senarios and that the ls1 235 cc intake runner models are a much better suit for street strip... so my second question is why did you go with the ls7 head and not the ls1? next is going to be what cam did you use? lift? duration? etc. also rocker arm ratio and pushrod length? what lift valve spring in the head did you use as well since there was many options for different lifts as well as solid or hydro lifters? i am about to buy the warhawk block this week as well as the heads and cam so i am so confused at to what to buy exactly. My goals are to have 650-675 horse about 600ft/lbs on 93 octane out of the 454 with no power adders. they have a 481 ci available but the guy recommended the 454 instead for longevity and reliability so i guess i will go with that unless you guys tell me otherwise and with good reasons to back it up.. also i need help in selecting what injector lb/hour to buy if you can answer any of these questions i would greatly appreciate it so much..
