Ahhh, ok.
Well, 1/4 mile anywhere near Austin is a good thing in my book. Doubt I would go if it were 1/8 though, I would just go to SAR instead.
What I REALY want, is a road race track. Someone decently close, that I can take my car on and run laps. If only I had been old enough to run in the IROC series

Motorsport Ranch in Dallas or Motorsport Ranch Houston if you want a road course track. Unless you can get into some kind of club day at Texas World Speedway in College Station.

Wow that is great news. I hope they do a 1/4 mile, but 1/8 is still good for practicing and getting benchmarks after making mods.
Sealy is so convenient for me and Barry, its a tranquil 30 min cruise down I10 starting at Katy with No traffic.
We should definitely have the next strip meet there, I guess after the HRP freebee. By the way, what is happening with that.?

Checked their website and they will be reopening Jan 6 still as a 1/8 mile track. Thats cool. They have plans for a road course, ATV course, and Kart track too. Maybe the will expand to 1/4 mile in the future.

We should ask if they aregoing to revive the Car Club Bash (CCB).
Back in the day Houston-F-Body(HFB) used to have anywhere from a dozen to over 30 cars show up every month. We would have a BBQ on the side lines. It was a lot of fun.
When I was with HFB I ran into a TGO contingent a time or two, but they never had enough people there to compete with the big clubs (West Side Mustangs, Houston Area Lightning Owners (HALO), the Impalla SS club(who's anme escapes me), and the Grand National club (whose name I don't remember either).
Anyway, if they revive the CCB (I hope they do) we should make it a regular event every month. You may recall this was one of the options on my poll

i dont think ccb will ever be again because bracket racing was the biggest downfall off the old track. car clubs are not as strong anymore after all the street crackdowns. HSRA used to do good too

I e-mailed asking about the CCB...here is the reply.
I THINK THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF FUN. I JUST NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE IT FAIR SO THE LIGHTNING GUYS DONT SCARE EVERYBODY OFF!
WE WILL BE LOOKING AT ALL RACE PROGRAMS AND WILL TRY TO DO THE ONES THAT ARE GOING TO GET THE MOST RACERS AND SPECTATORS TO THE TRACK!
THANKS VERY MUCH FOR TAKING TO TIME TO EMAIL US. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AT LONESTAR SOON!

I went to a few of those Car Club bashes before. One time I ran with the Houston F body guys. there were like thousands of lightnings, and they did pretty good, they usually won. Also a lot of Mustangs from Westside mustangs. It was sort of fun, but really, Im not a big fan of Bracket racking. there were a ton of cars and you made few runs.
