November 2018 COTM **Nomination Thread**
This thread is for November 2018 COTM **Nominations**.
PLEASE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE COTM NOMINATION RULES BEFORE PROCEEDING TO NOMINATE A MEMBER’S RIDE FOR COTM.
This thread is a Nomination Thread to nominate cars that will compete for this month's Car of the Month honor. The 12 (or less) most popularly nominated cars will be compiled into a *Voting Thread* in a couple of weeks. If you do not nominate a member's car for COTM, you can still second or third (fourth, fifth, so on) someone else's nomination. Cars must have at least a second nomination in order to make the Voting Thread.

- Do not nominate your own car. Your car must be nominated by another TGO Member.
- Do not ask your wife, husband, friends, extended family, etc. to register as TGO Members for the purpose of nominating your car.
- Do not nominate more than one car.
- Do not use multiple member accounts to nominate your own car or to nominate multiple cars.
- This is not a picture thread. Post only one (1) good photo of the car you wish to nominate. Do not use unrealistic, overly-processed images.
- You must post a picture with your nomination. This must be a full-sized picture (or at the very least, a pic or thumb that enlarges into a full-sized picture when you click on it).
- Correctly identify the user name of the member who you nominate.[This includes capitalization and spacing].
- Correctly identify the year and model/trim of the car you nominate.
- Do not nominate cars that are not in a high quality, finished state.
- And if you are nominated, please DO go out and take an abundance of good quality photos of your ride (multiple angles, interior, engine) and make them publicly accessible (for example via a photo album in your public profile or some sort of hyperlink to your photo album).

I'd like to nominate socalkidd and his awesome 1987 IROC-Z. It's all original and only has 23,000 miles. It's a TPI 305 and a 5 speed. I've only seen a few pictures of the car, but would love to see more of it!

I will second socalkidd’s 87
It’s identical to my 87 5-speed that I loved owning minus the hatch louvers (I didn’t have those)..
I’m psyched to see Tibo’s post in the voting thread.. the build thread is very impressive.. you should see the engine bay! Very detailed work on the whole car

I did not realize he had won last year. Is that against the rules?

If you want to know if somebody has won then go to the COTM Winners List sticky thread and do a search for the person's user name.

Correct me if I’m wrong..
but I don’t think it’s against the rules.. It’s just that the community prefers giving people that haven’t won a shot at it and usually past winners that get nominated step down because people are classy around here..

Not against the rules, but my personal opinion is that your car should be, "win once and done". We have so many virtually unknown 3rd gens on this site which deserve to be showcased in COTM. It's very easy to go back through the list of winners and find a nice car to nominate, because they are all nice cars. Harder to find a nice one which hasn't shared the limelight and give it a chance to be exposed. And to me, that is the whole point of COTM. Just my personal opinion, though. No offense to anyone.

As already stated, it wouldn’t be against the rules in this case (since it has been over a year), but as recently as Abubaca won, it would most likely be an unpopular choice. In accordance with the rules, you can stand by your nomination, and anyone else is free to second your nomination.

I’d say since Abubaca’s car is so dope, it’s resend.. I did wonder if it was an auto correct thing myself..

Re: November 2018 COTM **Nomination Thread**
So, for the record, this is my call...
We're not going to include dlinger in this month's COTM.
Having not been "sold" on the submitted image and the degree of separation (daughter's car) I looked into this submission. Fortunately, dlinger has a build thread for this Camaro. Looking over the thread, I slowly came around to the work put into the car and the transformation so far making it worthy of a COTM Nomination. However, availability of quality pics is an issue and by dlinger's own admission, he is lacking in quality pictures at the moment. Add to that, he's got some more pressing issues to attend to and ought not be concerned with our Car of the Month contest at this time.
There's always next year. Keep up the good work. The car is coming along very nicely.
Dave.
