Re: Shocks and Struts
Some OEM GM stuff that has been discontinued for 30 years?
An easier way to approach the question is to see what's available. You can get cheap parts store garbage, like anything by Monroe or Gabriel. There's mid level stuff like KYB, or Tokico... Or there are top of the line replacements like Koni or Bilstein, but currently Bilstein doesn't offer front struts for thirdgens. Konis are the most expensive stock replacement option, but they're also likely the best option in most cases.

Thanks Drew, I think the 36 year old shocks and struts need to go. Not looking for cheap, looking for something decent. The most the car will be driven is to and from car shows and a little cruising. Car has 40,000 and is original as far as I know.

Re: Shocks and Struts
I installed new KYB Excel-G struts and shocks (GR2s) and I'm really not impressed. Kinda bouncy and harsh.
It's too bad the front Bilsteins are discontinued. I have Bilsteins on my Mustang and it rides amazing.
I guess I'll have to save up for Konis sighhh
