FiTech Ultra Ram? Anyone hear anything on this one?
Ran across this a little while ago. Doesn't seem to be manifold only, but neither was the stealthram at first. Says it supports 650hp. Most of the info is on the system itself not the manifold. Thought it looked cool, and it's nice to have options.

I love the self tuning feature, and I love the user friendly feel of the fitech products, I have installed 2 of the go efi setups and both were seamless and smooth. I like where they were going with that, but it screams eBay with the sheet metal intake like all the LS ones that popped up last year.

The jury is still out on the looks, at least for me. Not sure. ......I've seen many LS style intakes built this way as well. Something to do with air/fuel on the back cylinders maybe? Would it speed up air to the rear runners?

Surprised there isn't more like this. Wonder how/why the center 2 runners are at such crazy angles? Help flow?

I know some intakes have had issues with uneven air/fuel distribution, especially on our batch fire cars where we can't tune sequentially. I wonder if the plenum shape and those different angled runners have something to do with that. Be interesting to hear from Fitech on that. They don't seem to be real big on customer service from what I've read.

Talked to FiTech today. .....officially, no manifold only, however they don't even physically have them in stock yet. Only FiTech part number is the entire turn key kit. Nice lady said once they're in stock however, the individual parts will likely get their own part numbers as "replacement part" etc. etc., and you would probably be able to purchase the manifold only. ...but officially no. No individual part number yet.
.....said to check back in a month or two.

I'd rather see a plastic intake with aluminum water jackets for coolant. Make the port walls thicker for different intake sizes. I asked FAST about it yrs ago at SEMA and they said to costly.

Im sure in time the intakes with come in with straight runners. as most of the parts come as copy's of what is on the market.. look close at the base..looks almost like a sigle plane..3 years ago they started importing them(bases)..with in a year. the runners lined up better.. im sure to get rid/use some of the bases not sold this is how they will use them up..who knows..
but the sheet mettle intakes on the maket now have straight runners..as they look better and sell faster...expl below
take the runner base from the below intake. and add the Fuel injection top with rails..and they would sell...its only a matter of time...its coming...and Im in!..as long as the runners are larg enough to make HP and not the smallish intake ports on the market now..

I would LOVE to see something like this to fit Vortec heads, such as my Fastburns. I'm heavily considering a 4bbl Fitech setup right now, as it's a LOT cheaper than the route I had planned before (GM Ramjet intake kit.)

That intake is clearly a carb intake that was modified with a plenum attatched. Thats why the runners in the middle have such a steep angle. Like the idea.

Re: FiTech Ultra Ram? Anyone hear anything on this one?
had to make mine..use a old tunnel ram.took off almost 8 lbs of aluminum (from the top half) for my big block..
wanted it to fit under a 5" cowl hood..and needed intake ports that would fit my brodix heads..after it was all done. had it polished.next to chrome steering arm..to show finish..

I think someone posted here that the fitech intake is nice but designed around a 1204 port and might port to a 1205 but the runners being sheet metal type are thin like stock tpi runners so you are limited on area there. For a 400-450 hp deal they would be fine i think.
