vortech oil leak
I can't figure out where this oil is coming from. It's NOT the feed and NOT the drain. I don't think it's leaking out of the seal behind the pulley..
Getting pissed.

Re: vortech oil leak
Correct, you might want to clean the area and run the engine. You can get the oil blowing back and it makes it harder to trace.

Almost looks like the front and middle of case is leaking. I can't remember, O ring on those 2 halves or paper gasket?

Re: vortech oil leak
I would definately try resealing that drain just for giggles, and as stated a bit of oil dye. Clean it down with a can of brake cleaner, blow it off and then run it.
After seeing the case seal on my V3, i dont have much faith in it longevity wise. Very thin, and barely protrudes from the machined grove.

Re: vortech oil leak
I think I've had this out several times and gone through a case of brake cleaner lol.
I *think* maybe my first -6 drain into the fp blockoff was causing back pressure and maybe it blew a seal.. ? I dunno. Annoying.
My rear main seal leaks too.. F'n old style 2pc engines. I should have build a dope LTx.
I guess I still can, technically. I've thought about yanking this motor out for my t-bucket project and doing up an LT1 for the thirdgen.

Re: vortech oil leak
I never remembered it leaking, and i never took it apart. Might want to put another case rubber rope seal on it and run it?
