'91 TA fuel pump question
Hello, I recently picked up a '91 TA with the 5.7 in it for a project car for my son and I. When I went to check it out the guy said the fuel pump had gone out and couldn't start it. I suggested to make sure that it would run, we'd spray some starter fluid into the air filter which we did and it'd run for a couple short seconds and I didn't hear any rod knocking sounds so that was good. I got it home the other day and before I went into replacing the pump wanted to check the electrical first. I located the pump relay and have power there but the relay doesn't click while cranking. I decided to try jumping the orange main power to the gray (which I had found is supposed to be the pump wire) hoping for it to make the pump hum, no luck there nor did the car start. So I need to wait for my son to get back home from a church trip to help test it further. Seems that if the relay was bad the car should have started with the direct jumping at the relay. Once I determine if the wiring is actually good up front, I want to check the back section, TIA for any help that this forum members can offer.

Re: '91 TA fuel pump question
Correct, I am doing the testing myself. Is this connector accessible without the tank being dropped? I haven't dropped it yet and actually I was hoping for a relay or small electrical issue instead of having to drop the tank. But I'm up for it if need be.
