T-RAM OWNERS

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Let me know if I missed you on the responses. I am not looking to part this out. The car itself is worth more than half of what I am asking without the engine or extra parts. I have been on this site along time and never seen a poster that has all the parts I have. I know what I have because I bought them and have the receipts to prove it. I have every option package SLP offered for the T-Ram along with the boxes they came in and original instructions. Nobody on this board has the same things. With the optional parts that are included you can install this intake on any year TPI car. Auto or manual transmission, cruise control or non cruise, AC or non AC.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I have a buyer coming up from Oregon this weekend to buy the car and all the parts. I hope Charlie posts videos when he gets the car running and or puts the T-Ram on his car, or both. He will have enough parts to do both, just needs a distributor.

I couldn't be more excited to get this car. I will post pics the minute I get it back to my shop and parked next to my 1LE. Hope to have it on the road before the 4th of July, and get some videos up

Awesome. Post a pic on YouTube of it running. What state will the car be in? Love to see it at a show one day.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I don't have it yet! Hopefully tomorrow I will! Headed down to my shop in a few to load up my trailer and get ready to head out bright and early tomorrow to pick it up. Talking with dave, I guess the cam gear is toast, and the distributor is out of the car, and the rest of it is still complete. I am hoping to swap the cam back to the smaller cam he had in it that he says worked better, do a flush on the motor, scope it all as best I can with a bore scope, cut open the filter, and see if I can get it running and driving real quickly before I swap the T ram for the stealth ram it comes with. I'm also considering having those SLP ZR1's narrowed and widened to a 17x4.5 and 17x11 for my car as a drag setup. We will see tomorrow!

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I will definitely start a thread on it. I can't say enough good things about dave and the car. This will be fun! I will post more pics tonight after I get it out, washed, and go through all of the parts

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I thought it would run with a new distributor. Any issues on the test drive? Did you drain the fuel or is siphon as much out as you could and put some fresh fuel in? Any water or oil leaks? I got your text, I dont doubt the injectors should be cleaned, I dont recall if I left the white 36lb? injectors in it or went back to the old reliable 24#ers that TPIS blueprinted back in the late 90's. Might just be the video, but the exhaust doesnt sound as crisp as it did before, you should be able to hear each cylinder fire through the headers and at the exhaust tips, it should sound crisp. The throttle response should be super crisp when you goose it.
Keep posting man, I hope you get it dialed in enough to make some decent passes soon. Also hope you have as much fun with the car and or T-Ram as I did. I know they went to the right person.

Keep the T-ram on it. HSR isn't anywhere near as iconic. T-Ram makes that car unique and special.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I got as much fuel out as I could, and threw 10 gallons of fresh 92 non ethanol fuel in it. It still needs more timing, and the video is bad. It sounds very crisp, and the throttle is very responsive! No oil leaks, water leaks, thing is dry! It cruises nice at 75 too. The koni's still feel new, and it drives and stops very tight! I'm going to keep messing with it, I'm sure it will be ready to make some passes down the drag strip soon. It definitely has some ponies lol

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I know the t ram is iconic, that why I bought the car from dave. I am going to put the T ram on my 1LE 92 Z28 I just finished restoring, and putting the HSR on the iroc.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
If you pop the factory caps off the strut towers in the engine bay you will see the tops of the adjustable struts. There should be a white plastic star shaped disc in the console that says KONI on it, put that on top of the strut shaft and turn it to adjust the valving on the strut. I think I left them on the softest settings. The rear shocks can be adjusted also, but you have to peel the carpet back to get to the top of them. In hindsight, the adjustable Koni's wasn't a smart investment, you dont road race a car with a loose automatic convertor and and lots of low end torque.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Well, gasket files sent in, test gaskets sent back to me, changes made and sent back to them and after quite a bit of steps to get T-ram gaskets made I get this today.
I'm sorry, but I've not had the availability to quote this work and my staff has been unable to get to this request. We will not be able to provide this work. My suggestion is that you reach out to a gasket manufacturer. Best of luck with your project.
On to the next quitter I guess.....

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
So a quick search on google provided the following -
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-p...am-intake.html
Dig in and read every post and you will find the official SLP ad along with the same " HSR is better becuase I have one" mentality. I would venture to say that Holley ripped off SLP's design. Tunnel ram base with an attempt to elongate the intake runners with a seperate upper plenum.
BTW, Ryan Falconer - http://www.falconerengines.com/main.php manufactured the T-Ram for SLP. Im not sure who designed it, but I would put money on Falconerengineering. They are still in buisiness, I would love to see GM hightech interview Ed Hamburger and Ryan Falconer and provide clarification on who did what on the T-Ram.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Ryan is who designed the T-ram for SLPs specs but he doesn't know who cast and machined it.. I talked with him on the phone a few years back and he said he received 0 credit from SLP for it.
My understanding is the molds were destroyed in the fire. Not sure how true it is tho.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Just for giggles, does anyone have any NOS T-ram gaskets floating around to measure ?

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I will just run a standard water net and run the hose abover the belt in the stock location, and a camaro air intake. I believe it will work just fine, as I think you really only need the angled down T ram specific water housing if you’re running a ln SLP dual cold air intake setup. Correct me if I’m wrong guys

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I think the base of the neck/boltholes are turned different than a stock tpi? I don't think it would be hard to cut up and weld a stock neck together for a T-ram.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
So I got it unboxed, and the tanks on it and lines on it. It’s not NOS but I can’t find anything damaged on it. It’s been blasted which is a bummer but none the less. I got a decent deal on it so it’ll be fine for the car it’s going on! I think a generic water housing will work. The TPI one is angled wrong for it, but I will find something that will work.
