I just almost spit on my keyboard. That's beyond funny! Does Michelle have a different name now?

You gotta wait and see what name your baby earns.
I got my 89 Formula 305 when I was 17 and named her Wendy after the wife in the shining, the story behind that is within of having her for 3 months I had to take her off the road for two, from the everlasting oh I'll just replace this and then find another 3 problems that needed addressing.
All work no plays johnny a dull boy

Awe shucks. LOL. Thanks for the kind words. I’ve never really put down in writing. Wasn’t sure anyone would dig my story.
I’ll have to post up a few more pics when I get a chance. Thinking about putting together “What is ILMODC?” Facebook page or something where I can share my antics and vids and back story of the car. Perhaps a place where other people can share “their” ILMODC’s stories.
I see all sorts of “In loving memory” of decals on cars all the time. Doesn’t mean that the car that carries that decal is an ILMODC, but I’m sure it has a story ya know.
The car has had a long life and while the car looks a little rough around the edges now, we’ve got some cool stuff under the hood. You know the feeling you get when you do a new mod to the car and can’t wait to feel the difference and benefit of that mod? Imagine going from a TPI on tired suspension to an LS 5.3/4L60E, Tubular BMR K Member and A-Arms, Aluminum drive shaft, Hotchkiss rear trailing Arms, KYB AGX struts, QA1-3 point Strut tower bar, front and rear poly sway end links and mounts, wonder bar and I don’t know what else. Yeah, the anticipation sucks.
Anyhow, thanks for listening. I’m loving all the stories I’m seeing here. Very cool thread!
Here is one last video for ya. Check out my Knight Rider style’ dirt slide intro.

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
So tonight our kids went to grandparents and I cleaned the GTA up today and pulled the ttops off anticipating a long needed date night with my wife. When we got in I looked at my wife real serious and said "we rub precious on her dash when we get in". My wife gave me a strange look and I proceeded to crank up some Billy Squire on the way to our favorite restaurant. As we were walking in I turned and looked at my car and told my wife to look at the sun glistening on precious's rear end lol. My wife is not getting the humor but I think I will quit calling my car Blackbird. She is Precious.

Well, 'Problem Child" just might be the most apt name ever given to a project car, so you've got my kudos!

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
Depending on who I'm talking with, can be any of the following names:
1. The Camaro Camaro Camaro (because of the Lear Siegler seat option)
2. The Z28, or The Z (an even split between these and number 1 above)
3. The Camero (if I'm emailing or texting my sister about it, because that's how we found it spelled in the Craigslist ad)

Facebook Post
Not sure if the link will work (I'm at work and FB is blocked). Check this out.
If not, google "What is I L M O D C facebook". Kinda lame as facebook wont let me just do ILMODC. I have to add spaces. Some sort of filter wont let me name the page what I want. Silly.
Ok, never mind. I guess I cant post a link to the facebook page. Damn board politics??
Facebook Post
Perhaps I can put it in my signature...

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
I named my first 91 Camaro 'Laura' after my ex-wife(she divorced me because I bought it, so I thought it was the least I could do)- and then the b!tch caught fire and tried to burn me to death... so I don't name my cars anymore.

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
My wife started calling it the Bone-Marrow.. instead of Cam-arrrow
So now it’s just Bone.. “Taking Bone for a cruise”
Our Black Honda is “Blake” short for “Black Snake” after our white Camry named “Whitesnake” died..
My black Tahoe is named after my Freisian Horse’s DamSire Lolke (pronounced Loka)
My other classic ride is a Friesian horse from medieval times..
We have two Friesians and a Friesian cross.. awesome horses.. getting a horse ready for a show is very similar to a car.. even have to “dress” the feet with hoof Black and shine them up.. ha ha..

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
Mine is named The Deuce. Ive had three third gen flame red IROCs over the years. The first didn't have a name. The second was dubbed The Mullitt. The third and my current car got its name from being the Mullitt 2.0 and being an 88, 2 8's and 2.0, hence The Deuce.
LOL
Why wont this thing let me spell out mullitt the right way?

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
My 91 Formula came from a warehouse of cars in storage. The person I bought it from had purchased the car from the original owner. He was going to repair and sell it but never got around to it.
He told me the girl who he bought it from was given the car when she was in high school and drove it all through college. She decided to sell it after someone at college left her a message etched into the hood. I have no idea what must of happened but the one word message was clear.
Hence the name I still call the car The "****". She's still sexy to me even after all these years.

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
The girl I bought my 88 Iroc from had restored from the ground up. It was a father/daughter project. She had to sell it a few years later as she had gone back to school and was running low on funds.
When they were restoring the car, near the end, her father passed away. She was very emotional when I asked her about it. I promised her if I ever have to sell it, I would contact her first.
Driving it home, I noticed there was a little card with a picture and a couple of sentences on it, I realized it was her father. I mailed it back to her, of course.
Her fathers name was Sonny. There was no way I could call her anything else.

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
1) 87 Formula is "The Yellow Formula"
2) 89 Formula 350 Convertible is "The Convertible"
3) 2016 Mustang RS3 is "Mustang" or "Roush"
4) When my wife had a Yellow Formula, it was "my Wife's Yellow Formula"
5) 67 Buick Riviera is "The Riv" An ex GF called it "Firefly" I have no idea why.
6) 2007 Tahoe is "The Hoe"
I guess I am not that creative.

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
I racked my brain for a while to come up with my car's name. I called it KITT at first, just because I was a fan of the show when I was a kid, hence my love for the third generation body style. I never intended it to be permanent, I just needed a placeholder so I could have something to call it.
So, I decided on 'Selina'. I'm a Batman fan and I felt it needed a female name, so I named her after Catwoman's alter ego. It seems to fit: sleek, sexy, and she purrs like a jaguar.

Roxie, she's always ready to play no matter the weather, she's not fast, but turns heads, doesn't mind how often I take her out, never complains where we go, prefers tight jeans n a tube top, "stays close on every turn", looks good in red, just a loyal and fun gal

Re: What did you name YOUR thirdgen?
My wife tried to call my car Celina, pronounced like yours, because I picked it up in Celina, Ohio. This was mostly just to annoy me when I first got it because Im not a fan myself of naming cars. Why? I dont know. Just never did....I do refer to it as “The bird” or “The Firebird” when my wife asks what car we’re taking. Lol pretty standard names.

My Firebird's named Phoenix, due to my fiancee seeing the bird on the sail panel and thinking it was a Phoenix.
