Any pics with 19" wheels?
I've been looking for pics of a third gen with 19" wheels. Has anyone actually put these on? I see lots of 20's and 18's but haven't seen any 19's. Pics please. And let me know your thoughts on ride. Are they significantly more harsh than 18's?

I even moved then to my 91 z28 that had stiffer spring global west stuff and ride was harsh on 16” stock wheels. Set light car was fine and the ride comfortable
I now have the high end valved viking double adjustable but car has no driveline in it yet so cant comment on the vikings. They are not meant to be set stiff however for street use, mainly for ultra high hp drag or very rough handling racing. Its their crusader valving. The streer warrior stuff will be fine when dialed in

Was on adjustable tokico for 10 yrs lol. Set stiff the ride was very harsh with the eibach springs. They were soft when set soft like when i went drag racing.

Hahaha, my car also has Tokicos at the moment. I never even heard of Tokico before I bought this car. Also running Eibach springs. I ordered the "Street" Viking shocks/struts. My goal is to have "decent" handling but I'll sacrifice a bit of cornering if it makes the ride less harsh. I didn't necessarily want to have 19" wheels but I needed to make sure I had wheels that would clear the ZL1 Brembo brakes. The 18s I was looking at were too close for comfort.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
How much do you know on this subject? I was going to run 255/35/19 on the front and 295/30/19 on the rear which would be a 26" height. Other option would be 245/40/19 and 285/35/19 which puts me around 27". I thought that might be too tall for these cars.

Interested where you net out Jeff.
I plan on C6 Z06 rims ( I have a mild mini tub) and am not 100% sure what size sidewall tire I will be running.
Once you buy and install parts, please post results.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
295/30 has about a 3.5” sidewall height. 295/35 has about a 4.1” height
255/35 has 3.5”. So thats a good match to the rears 295/30. It will look good from the side
245/40 has about a 3.85” sidewall. 285/35 has about 3.9”. Also a good match and would likely ride abit better, but brands sizes and construction vary. Imo i like 27-28” tires on these cars. Gives clearance and traction but can be tougher to fit in the well when sizes get wider. Alot of hammering for 305/35 but it can be done, however this tire is 11.5” section width while other newer mickey 305/35 are 12.9. Big difference and same “advertised” size
My 295/30’s road nice and had decent traction. Bridgestone potenza. My 305/35 drag radials have a 4.2” sidewall and being a drag radial they are alittle softer sidewall tire so that helps with ride quality.

That be like a 19x8 front and 19x9-10 rear?

Yes, the wheels are 8.5" in the front and 10" in the rear.
I figured I would have to decrease the tire width if I increased the wall height. Based on an online tire size calculator I've been using, the 245/40 and 285/35 would be 26.7" height on the front and 26.9" on the rear. If I do the original size I was considering, I'm going with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. If I do the taller side walls then I'll need to switch to either the MichelinPilot Sport 4S or the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position. All good tires from what I've read. If you think I can fit the 245/40s and 285/35s pretty easily then I'd be happy to switch to those.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
I won't say you can't go 19", but 18" seems to be the optimal size in terms of sidewall, tire availability, weight, and a few other things.
Also keep in mind that wheels and tires act as an additional spring and if you go too stiff (19" and above), almost everything suffers - ride, handling, straight line traction. There have been a few articles over the years where a car was tested on identical tires in different sizes (I think one was a VW on 15" up to 19") and the 17"/18" was the best in terms of driving and also performance.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
I will say I noticed a difference going from the stock 15" wheels to the 16" GTA wheels, even with Konis all the way around. The ride definitely changed for the rougher. I also notice an even bigger difference going from the 16" GTA wheels to the 17" Ronal wheels. 18 and 19's are going to be even more rough, even if you have a little more sidewall on them, all that additional unsprung weight and it is further from the axis.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
Just my experience thats all. I’ve had the same shocks and springs on stock 16” wheels and my 19’s. 2 different type of tires. My one car has roll bar and subframes. Its a stiff chassis car compared to my bone stock 91 z28. Softer stock spring rates and shocks set light seemed to damp well imo.
I have run 17’s on my 99 trans am i had. Stiff springs and bilstein shocks i felt it rode very well. Softer than my iroc since i drive my iroc set stiff and aggressively but i could always dial it down.
Everyone will have their own experiences and comfort levels so take with grain of salt

I hear you. I remember when I first bought my car, the previous owner talking about how the ride was waaayyy too rough for his taste. Then I drove it and thought it was extremely comfortable. I ordered one 18" wheel today. I'm going to test fit it over the ZL1 brakes. If it doesn't fit then the decision is made for me because I am 100% putting those Brembos on my car.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
I will be running 19" wheels on all fours after striking out trying to fit C7 Z07 Cup Wheels.
Orr, what tire size do you have in those pics above? I am shooting for a 26.3" tall tires front and rear but am wondering if I should go taller.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
The fronts were 255/40 i believe. The rears in those pics SHOULD be my mickey et street radial 2’s that are 305/35/19. This tire is 11.4” section width and fits fine. They have been discontinued however and replaced with et street ss which are also 305/35 BUT they are advertised at 12.9” section width which is much wider so if you plan to go that big you will want to measure closely. Its over 27” tall.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
265/35/ZR19 on a 19x9
305/30/ZR19 on a 19x10.5
My back end is mini-tubbed so I have plenty of room in the rear. More worried about height fitment up front (I currently have a 245/45/17). I figured if I landed in between 26 and 27 I would be ok. Both would have 3.6X sidewall height. Maybe I should go taller in the rear, and or shorter with a 30 series up front. Tire options are indeed limited with 19's.

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
295 rears and like 255 front iirc could of went wider on front for sure and alittle more aggressive on offset as well and if I did it over again would be a square setup of 10.5 all around
35 is about right all around I think 40 would be too much and with lower ride will run into issues with front and rear
Also I’ve had both 18s and 19 in my sig are 18x10 all around as well I both 19s and 18s felt the same with 35 if I did 18s again would do a 40 because the taller tire fills wheel well so much better and prob be best ride with taller tire as well with saying that I think the 19s look sick from the 19s with the perfect stance my wasn’t perfected but yea
With all said in done looks wise 19s have the cake with the cherry and ice cream , performance wise 18s will be the best option due to tire selection and lighter weight and more room for taller and or shorter tires combinations and if you plan to track
But can always have you track tire set as well lmao js

They will fit and will be taller as well but sure if you will like the look and as long your not really low it should be fine worst case you have to remove the fender liner for sure for extra clearance for suspension travel if your super low

Re: Any pics with 19" wheels?
So I ended up going with 245/40/19 and 285/35/19. Unfortunately they sent the wrong tires (235/40/19) but I decided to put them on any. They ride is fine. I probably could have gone with shorter tire walls but I prefer the height of these tires. Fills out the Wheels wells better in my opinion.

Just out these on. 19s rear. In the rear i have a 4th gen rearI had to use a 5/16 spacer but going to a 3/8 or 1/4 spacer.
the wheel well was “massaged previously.
Does anyone here use a spacer or should I get longer studs ? It’s not a track car but a weekend driver
