Nice 89 Nathan! Keep updating picts. Got mine cleaned up and drove to work today. Like the power buldge hood little more than the cowl scoop .

Re: Post your firebird pics
Haven’t posted in a while been too lazy to take any pics lol. No updates still cruising and tuning. May eventually buy some mini latches for hood and paint or wrap it, still unsure. Also some pics of my buddy at track.

Re: Post your firebird pics
were the four hood pins necessary to pull the bow out of the hood and make
it fit better?i actually think it looks really good on that car but have seen the
RA11 hood on some cars and i dislike it.it would look amazing lowered a bit, mine has the same issue but the crappy roads around my area make me rethink doing it.
that definitely is a beautiful gta

Re: Post your firebird pics
yep other than that it fits great....I mocked some studs to work for now and eventually I’ll buy some 30 dollar mini latches....yours looks like it fits great...lowering would look great but some backroads I have to go on needs that extra inch lol atleast in wv...mines not a gta, trans am with gta badges but thanks for the nice words!

Re: Post your firebird pics
i had to mess around with my hood to get it to look this good and im still not happy.it has more of a curve on the opposite side,i just made up some of my own hoodpins too but haven't installed them yet.the gta emblems look great on your car,i was thinking of doing that as well and if i can find some i might just do that.were did you get them?

Re: Post your firebird pics
^ebay, yea I think the cleanest look would be to buy mini latches unless you are skilled at body work or pay a shop. I’ll look forward to your final results. However yours looks close enough if you use standard hood pins in front it may bring down the whole hood enough to minimize curve.

Re: Post your firebird pics
i really like the look of the locking latches that hide the pin under a small cover but they arent small and require a far bit of cutting and fabrication.with mine im thinking just the hood pins and a little more adjustment will be enough, did you make your ram air functional?also ,have you considered a wrap,i wanted to get white carbon fiber(or even black but white would be different) but it will cost as much as painting the hood body color at a shop.

Re: Post your firebird pics
^agreed with the hideaway latches too much cutting for me but look great. I’m in the process of making ram air functional... as of now I have one nostril cut feeding air to a cone filter but eventually want to find a ram air box.
and haven’t decided on wraps or paint or leave as is....it’s honestly nice to not have to worry about chipped paint ....like the wrap ideas you mention though!

Re: Post your firebird pics
i was thinking of sealing my 14"x4" open element air cleaner to my cowl hood so it draws only cool air in as well,i wish it wasn't 100 degrees out but its better than 2 feet of snow, lol(too dang hot to wrench on the car)

Thanks. Taken in Sunlight Basin just east of Yellowstone Park. Went over the Beartooth Hiway (lots of switch backs, 10,000'+ elevation) from Red Lodge Mt and through Yellowstone Park with the Tee tops off! Only way to see it!

This is my first time back on this site in about 12-13 years. Heres a shot of my 1986 Recaro Trans Am back then before the motor blew and how it looks now after finally pulling it out of the garage where it sat untouched or all that time. Rebuild starts this weekend!

Re: Post your firebird pics
yes i did and i completely winged the color match and it came out (just about)perfect,i also painted my spoiler at the same time but i haven't put it on yet(rs high rise).
the issue with it is it doesn't have studs but has the holes for 1/4 20 studs/bolts(stripped maybe?)do you think i could use a slightly larger self tapping bolt to mount it
or should i epoxy studs back into the holes?
now i have an opportunity to trade my new wheels for these wheels, what do you think, whats your preference between the two?

@1986bandit, not sure on spoiler studs maybe someone can chime in...I like the wheels on now but really both should look good.
