No data from chips read on Burn1
Hi guys, I read the prom that was in my car and a Hypertech chip that I was given on my Burn1 to look at the data and everthing is 0's,when I try to look at it in TunerPro RT, no data. I bought the HDR1 to read the prom that was running my last engine since the late ninetys. I purchased my SuperRam and 219 camshaft from Lingenfelter in 96 and they directed me to a man in Tampa, Jim I think, and I wanted to look at his tuning and maybe use that for a starter bin file for my new build. .I read each chip with Flash and Burn and after seeing success in the box I saved each buffer file. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance..

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
Yes its seems to be correct. The Lingenfelter prom was put onto the hdr1 and the hypertech was taken out of the holder and put straight into the burn 1 with notch toward handle and open slots at the top toward handle.

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
Read the chip as a '256 and save the top half. By '89 most of the '7165 EPROMS were '256 sized as they where less expensive then the '128 chips.

I read the chip as a 27C256(read only) verifed the buffer and then saved with the same results, all data 0

I am using the $6E XDF file to try and view this data. Is that still correct? It is what I used to look at my AYPY bin data.

I am confused what are the buffer and chip addresses needed

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
If you have any flash proms you can do a burn then a read to see if it reads that data.
Just watch your offsets. If it won’t read what you burned I’d say the burn 1 is faulty.

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
I burned the APYP bin I had to a blank chip and then read the chip and saved the buffer as test1. Loaded it in tuner pro RT and it showed the data

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
Have you tried the proms in the car ? You would get a code 51 if the chips are corrupt. I can’t imagine why two chips are showing all zeros.
If the Hypertech is a 128922 I can post a copy of the .bin or email it to you.
If you want me to try a read on a burn 2 and pocket programmer just pay shipping and I’ll try to help.

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
The car has the motor out right now. I'm trying to learn Tuner Pro RT as thing progress on the new engine and transmission. I was really just reading the HyperTech chip to look at the data for infromation but the Lingenfelter ,Florida man, chip was what was running my car and I thought that it may be a better starting point than even the APYP bin that I have. If I cant figure anything out I may take you up on your offer to read it.

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
I have exchanged several emails with Dave Blundell from Moates Support. He seems to think the chip is damaged. Reading it as 2732A(read only) I can get a Success and a Verify Success and then save the file. I saved it as Test1 and have tried to attach it. All data was zeros when I tried to look at it in Tuner Pro RT.

Re: No data from chips read on Burn1
I’m not sure if the chip has a leg cut making the information encrypted.
The memcals cover is glued on with a rtv. I didn’t want to desterb it but it might still be useable. I did a read on it and came up with very little data see image. The Hypertech is odd it’s a 24 pin chip. It should be a 28 pin chip. I couldn’t pull any data from it . Wish I was more helpful. I’ll send back the chips tomorrow.
