Cross-Fire NOS kit value
Not for sale. Yet.
I have a new-in-box NOS 05125 complete kit for Cross-Fire circa 1994. NOS bottle is full (was shipped that way in 94) but expired in 1999. Kit is complete down to brochures and the original receipt.
Being that I have a TPI car and I can't use it without modifications I thought it unwise to open this and ruin the originality for the right third gen or vette enthusiast to enjoy.
What's a good asking price if I post this here or ebay, etc?

Re: Cross-Fire NOS kit value
The age hurts the value. Getting the bottle recertified will probably be a pain. I've got a bottle one generation newer than that one, and haven't been able to find anyplace local even willing to send it in. From the little I've looked at the subject, it's cheaper to just buy a new bottle. The 90* valve makes it stand out a bit from current versions too.
If they still made that kit today, it'd probably be about $7 or $800 I'd imagine. Since it's basically just a wet fogger setup with an extra nozzle and some additional hardware to connect the second fogger, the value probably wouldn't be really high. I would subtract $100 or more for the old bottle and being second hand. Doubt there's a collector market for vintage CFI specific parts, but I could be wrong about that. If you end up shipping the bottle, it'll have to be empty or pay hazmat (if they'll even take it full).
If you really want to get an idea what the market will bear, toss it on Ebay with a 99 cent start, and a reserve high enough to make you happy if it sells, and see where it ends up.

Re: Cross-Fire NOS kit value
I was thinking more along the lines of someone putting it on a really low mileage car for car shows, etc. Mostly for looks and the bottle could be empty for that matter. Vette people are a little crazy. It would make a nice addition for a period correct show piece.
I agree if you wanted to use it a new bottle would be in order. Could have it setup for both bottles so you could get that vintage look when applicable.
