OEM RADIATOR 350 TPI 1987
Hello,
I need to replace my existing radiator as it is leaking. I want a genuine ACDELCO replacement. The current radiator has this number
The problem is that when creating online orders the ACDELCO 21466 radiator does not seem to be compatible with a 1987 iroc-z 305/350?? 1988 onwards is! Any ideas?

Can anyone comment on this? I am shopping for the exact radiator and want a factory A C Delco. Why won't a 21466 fit my 87 IROC?

AC Delco isn't always factory. At this point, an AC Delco radiator isn't going to be any closer to the original radiator than most other replacements. Chances are above average that it's the exact same radiator as several other brand labels, only difference being the name on the box.

PS it's for an Auto trans as it has an integrated oil cooler.

Hi guys, may I chime in?
I need a new radiator, my original rad has the label "AF 52455839" on it. This number is the AC Delco 21466 nowadays. On the pictures at RockAuto the radiator seems to have separate oil cooler fittings on the right and on the left side and no drain plug. Do the fittings fit the original oil cooler lines? Is there a drain plug? Anyone has this rad and can give me some info? Or should I buy the Spectra Premium CU750? From the pics, this looks right for my car.

Thanks,
Oli

I don't think I'd put any faith into the AC Delco 21466. Simply because it doesn't look like any thirdgen radiator I've ever seen. Every so often there's an error in Rock Auto's listings. I sure wouldn't pay twice as much for a radiator that doesn't even look correct, just because it's an AC Delco. It's not like you're getting an actual GM Harrison radiator even out of the AC Delco box.
I'd go with one of the ones that looks like the original in your car. Chances are all the brands available are coming out of a few different factories at most. Probably can't go wrong.

Re: OEM RADIATOR 350 TPI 1987
Thank you for all the info! So I guess I will go with the Delco unit. Never had issues with ACDelco parts, 98% of the time I order everything from Delco if possible. Bought a Spectra Premium A/C Condenser last year from RockAuto because Delco units are no longer available and was not very happy with it. Fitted not very well, had to push and twist to get it seated behind my radiator, also the hard line fittings are very flimsy and a bit too long for the hard line to the orifice. Overall a typical China prduct, but it was the only one available, so I had to go with it. ACDelco OE parts were always the best choice for me so I think the radiator from Delco will be the best option.

Re: OEM RADIATOR 350 TPI 1987
A lot, if not most, of the AC Delco parts are made in China now, and the "replacement" brands are coming from the same factory as the Delco parts. It's very difficult to get actual OE parts from the Delco brand now, some of the parts don't even come from Delco anymore. I actually prefer some of the other brands over them because they were the OE, like Delphi/Aptiv
