So given that there are a few sellers on Ebay currently selling reprints of Delco battery labels, which Ebay sellers are members here? Would hate to see someone profiting from other people's work.
We are in the process of making a small run of the black tops, still trying to find what year this type of top was used in what year, I'm talking the current blue top made in black. Any help with decals will speed up this process.

Here you go. At least three sellers on eBay are selling copies of my battery decal.
I don't think I've ever seen a table or a thread or a series of photos that list what battery part numbers went with which cars in which years.
It's in "the book". Pretty sure it's in the owners manuals, and the service manuals. I know I looked it up, and different engines and years had different batteries.
That's what I thought. Certainly some will be more in demand as repros than others (like mine), but there will be more than one "right" answer if you are looking to service a large portion of the repro battery top /decal market.
It gets more complicated because from year to year, the graphics on the label changed too. Little things like the Delco logos, the Anderson, IN line, etc. At the end of the day if the general look is right, no one is likely to notice.
Isn't it funny how we chase these details that were under the hood of every car on the lot, but nobody paid attention in the day? It's part of what makes the car hobby fun. I had a few cars that would have had the original delco batteries & not one picture under the hood.
In fact, of the old pictures I do have of my cars from the era, I never once took a picture of the interior. I suppose it was because back then it was just developed film, we couldn't email, post picts of share anything electronically so there was really no reason to take this kind of pictures. Never dreamed of looking back for that kind of info. Now we are In an era where we are all taking pictures everyday. So different.
I don't want to produce good enough decals, the manuals and pics are out there. We are buying freedom manuals, and now I go through owners manuals at the swaps. It ain't easy. If you have a battery that you know is correct for any model, post it here. The 2 that we do took 3 years of digging through stuff. Some know and want correct. We're checking into doing a small black topper run. I'll post it when I have them.
Finding a freedom that came from my car at my moms garage was huge, these are out there. Let's find them.
Don't take my comments the wrong way. I "like" correct. But something close would be so much better than our current alternatives, that anything in the ballpark would be welcome, if "correct" cannot be achieved.
Hmm
My 1986 came from the factory with 1 very close, I think the Freedom II were the replacements
Amazing that you saved those. Back in the day, who would have even bothered thinking there would be a reason to keep the decals.
Who knows how many delco batteries we had back in the day & I for one sure had no problem replacing them with something else.
Very cool. Get them scanned, you can replace the missing areas then, then digitize and print some. I can get you a blank black or blue topper w/ the 2 pc plexi eye installed for your project of making your own labels and a custom topper.
I kept them just for this reason. always planned on remaking them but never got around to it. I also have the original hood and rear hatch shock springs i plan on getting those decals remade also. I have the battery around someplace need to dig it out of the barn.
Has anybody thought of just making a topper for the batteries with ac delco Info. I have one for my 72 Olds.
up to 1977 they are already being made, the eye is wrong, and so is the warning decal. otherwise they look good
you can drill out the red eye, and pop in a neon green one. We sell the eyes to do this.
